Outstanding!
The moment we stepped inside, we were hit with these unreal BBQ smells that promise a good meal ahead.
Those Memorable Burnt Ends... And Then Some Now, let’s talk burnt ends. Imagine brisket so flavorful and delicately smoked that it simply melts in your mouth upon the very first encounter. The burnt ends at Midwood Smokehouse were precisely that, embodying a rich, smoky sweetness with every tender bite, crafting a culinary masterpiece from seemingly simple ingredients. And as if that wasn’t enough to skyrocket our BBQ experience, let’s not forget the tender and tangy Carolina pork that followed. Succulent, with a zesty kick, and cooked to absolute perfection - the pork was a triumphant celebration of what Carolina BBQ represents. And let's not gloss over the fall-off-the-bone ribs that deserve a special mention. So, whether you're drawn to the luscious, rich brisket or the vibrant, tender pork, your taste buds are in for an unforgettable journey at this bbq hotspot.
Stellar Service: Even with a busy lunch, the service was nothing short of impressive. Our server was not just knowledgeable about the menu, but also super friendly and easy to talk to, making the meal even more enjoyable
Vibe: And it's not just about great food. The whole vibe at Midwood Smokehouse was lively and inviting. It's the kind of place where you can feel the energy of happy diners and staff who genuinely enjoy being there.
Sides: Though the BBQs were the star, the sides held their own. From vibrant, tangy coleslaw to deeply flavorful baked beans, every plate was a hit, complementing the main dishes perfectly.
To sum it up, Midwood Smokehouse isn’t just a dining spot—it’s an experience. With its combo of top-notch food, friendly service, and lively atmosphere, it's a must-visit for anyone and everyone looking...
Read moreIf you’re really from the south and you’re used to that gooooood, flavorful, well cooked bbq… this is not the place or maybe I just went on a terrible night.
The environment was nice and the staff was mostly helpful but not overly friendly, especially the lady behind the bar.. you can tell she was ready to go.
I ordered the bbq plate with Mac n cheese and baked beans. The baked beans were delicious and so were the pickles 🙂. The mac n cheese looked like Kraft Mac n cheese. The cheese was almost too creamy and the noodles were hard. I immediately knew off of appearance alone, I needed to try it before pulling off and after tasting those hard noodles I took it back in and asked for something else. The manager helped me this time and he was VERY helpful. You can tell he cares about the reputation of the restaurant. He asked if I wanted a different scoop and I agreed but it was the entire batch I guess.. the noodles were just not cooked all the way.
The BBQ was decent… just decent nothing special. There’s no mission bbq here in CLT but if you’ve ever had it.. the chain restaurant is better than this.
After reading the rest of the lower reviews it confirmed the uncomfortable feeling that I had as a black woman in there. The only super welcoming person was the manager and that was after I returned with my order. Maybe it’s a cultural thing as to why some of us don’t like the food or the experience and others had a...
Read moreVery consistent and very good. My wife and i go fairly often. Its world class BBQ. The brisket is amazing. We like the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers and the side salad - which is a good fresh salad with a midwestern style with corn and back beans.
The platters have good portions. Small platters include 1 side, large platters give you 2 sides and so much meat we normally take some home for tomorrows lunch
The Midwood Smokehouse at Park Road Shopping Center is in the backlot - its a little odd to drive behind the main shopping center and find stuff hidden back there if you’re new to the area.
The bar at this location is a bit small and hard to get a seat at the bar. They usually have a good craft beer selection on top and a good whiskey selection. This location feels a little less like a trendy bar than the one in Elizabeth.
Its usually busy but we hardly ever have to wait for a table and the service is consistently good. Less crowded and less loud than Macs on South Boulevard and the food is just as good.
If you want a great relaxed date night, get a little dressed up, go to Dot Dot Dot for a drink and walk next door to Midwood for dinner (maybe 50 feet away). Parking is usually full near the front door but easy to find a little farther away on...
