Charlotte Yoga — Local services in Charlotte

UPDATE: Management has reached out and clarified that I did not lose a class. That is a relief. I recall the FitGrid app showing one less class so I have uninstalled that app and will only use the Charlotte Yoga app from now on. With all this said, I wish the exercise community as a whole would normalize that "life happens" and be more lenient towards missed classes or changes to schedules. Oh well....

I've been going to this location on and off for probably 10 years. After my babies I have gone back to exercise classes and it has been great. Unfortunately, I completely forgot about a class I had signed up for. Not only did Charlotte Yoga take the class (reasonable) BUT they also charge $20!!! I emailed them explaining my forgetfulness and apologizing and no one responded. Look, I get small businesses need to hold people accountable for things but this is too much. It really seems like a way to make a quick buck. Exercise should not be stressful or empty your pockets. I have one more class left on my pass and I will be moving on to another studio afterward. I want to like this place, i really do. The teachers are good and the vibe seems nice. But with the recent change in ownership they have made some unfortunate changes. Almost all class times have been shortened to one hour. Unless you live within a short drive of the studio, it's almost not worth the drive through Charlotte traffic for an hour class. Also almost all classes are suffocatingly hot. I understand the appeal and benefits of warm and some hot classes. I just wish there were a greater variety of classes on the schedule. LOOOOOOOOVE THIS PLACE! I have tried a variety of YOGA places from Lake Norman to Blakeney. What I LOVE about Charlotte Yoga is the feeling. The staff isn't snobby. They make a genuine effort to learn and remember your name. The classes are challenging, yet teaches to all levels for newbies. The music at Charlotte Yoga ROCKS. They put the fans on sporadically and open the door.... which is a little piece of heaven.
