So to give you a little context, as you can see by my name i am a latino. But what most races don't realize is that?I am a Latino American born u.S citizen with a full latin name. This provides me a window into The world of the racist american mind. I get it a lot because of my look and my name. What? They are very surprised when I speak english. And my american new york accent and culture comes out. The manager lady on the phone was very dismissive after she ask for my last name. I was calling about an ad to work as a delivery driver. She said she would call me.She was too busy at the moment. She never called so I decided to stop by the next day. Went into the store and was greeted by a gentleman front and I can see the older lady manager from where I was standing behind the counter. She can clearly hear us talking i was telling the gentleman that I spoke with a woman over the phone about a driver position, so he pointed over to her and said you must have spoken to her and she looked at us when he pointed at her. She was busy at the moment. What her look was very nasty. She gave me a sideword look and then looked away. I didn't think much of it because she was busy at the moment. But then I started saying loudly that I spoke with her.And then I would like to follow up on the phone call. Well the guy told me to leave my name in number. And he will give the information to the appropriate people. At that moment the older lady started walking towards us.So I said to him.Who do you mean her the manager. As she walked by us hearing the conversation , she looked at me again and I smiled thinking we were going to talk or at least acknowledge me. But again, she gave me a nasty sideward, look with a serious mug and just walked by, didn't even say hello, after I smiled at her and tried to open my mouth and say hello, but when I saw her face I said never mind. She's the racist on the phone. she gave me a really nasty side word.Look, that's what I realized she was not just busy , she was giving me the hint "We don't want you here". I've been through this a lot and this is clearly a racist dismissal of a hard working american latino. Obviously they were hiring because they had an ad on indeed but as soon as I got there and she realized was the latino on the phone, they were very dismissive. I recommend all latinos not to go to this pizzeria.Unless you want to feel her cold shoulder , a nasty looks. Latinos a vallan a este restaurante la manager es una racista. She should be fired, the .anager is giving the place a bad reputation. I'm sure I'm not the only complaint or at least.I'm the only one that has the...
Read more**employee highlight for manager/management- very impressive customer service. Hard to find now a days. **I stopped in to the store tonight to grab some water for me and my pup as we were talking a long walk down south boulevard. I didn’t order anything, simply just wanted some water, and even in the middle of what seemed to be a very SWAMPED & understaffed night, the gentleman making the pizzas, (I didn’t catch his name - REALLY wish I had) went above and beyond to make time and help me. Things were very busy and he accidentally spilled some water & fell trying to rush and accommodate me & do all the other things we was doing && even still, after he fell, he was one of the most kind & courteous people I’ve met in customer service in a long time. I don’t know that I could’ve kept my composure as well as he did tonight.
I have never ate at this toppers pizza before, but because of this kind gentleman I will most definitely be back, and will be loyal to this location specifically because of him. I look forward to purchasing pizzas & tipping generously at this location in the near future!
I didn’t get the gentleman’s name, but I am hoping management see’s this review and can figure out who this employee is. There were only 2 men working at this location when I went in. It was around 9pm on Thursday night, 9/29/22. The man that helped seemed to be the one in charge - making pizzas, boxing pizzas, answering the phones, cashier, etc. he was older than the other gentleman.
I hope this employee gets the praise & maybe even a raise that he most definitely deserves.
Thank you for employing great people, I look forward to being a customer here soon in the future and many times after because of this one visit that truly made the best...
Read moreThis is the peak pizza place. The staple of Charlotte. Toppers is not "the best pizza ever ohmygod" level, BUT, it is close. It is the best pizza chain for sure.
Open super late, literally eat here all the time bc I'm a night owl and in charlotte nothing else is open.
Reliable: i have never had a bad pizza from toppers.
Options, options options. Tons of things to try. Are they all 10/10s? No. But it's fun to try their creations. And still, none have ever been awful (like little Ceasars or pizza hut stuff can be).
Healthy Option- Cauliflower Crust. Their cauliflower crust is the BEST I've tried. Ever.
PRICES - should have put this as number one. Their prices are so low (especially if you use the app) i don't understand how they make a profit. I hope they're paying their employees well though.
ridiculously silly marketing. Just sign up for their promos and let them spam your email, whoever is doing their marketing is doing a great job. A bit edgy, fun, and witty.
good rewards programs. I'm constantly getting free pizzas. Again, not really sure how they make money but I'm not complaining 😆
ALSO should have put this first: Old World Pepperonis aka those little crispy pepperonis that form a cup when cooked. Infinitely better than regular pepperonis. You do need to...
