Give & Take Coffee — Restaurant in Charlottesville

This place is such a delight. Aja really shines here, both with her personality and talent for making delicious coffee. We randomly went by one day going to one of the other shops in this area. I overheard Aja recommending her strawberry iced latte, and thought how interesting that would be. She makes the syrup in house. Excellent, superb choice. It tasted exactly how she described it: strawberry with a surprising hint of mocha even though there is none in it! I have been craving it ever since and planned my day around going to get it again since her hours are specific as of right now. My partner got a mocha latte, again, very good quality using actual cocoa powder instead of overly sweet syrup. The moment you pull into the parking lot and see the corner where Give and Take resides, you can’t help but smile. Beyond glow of the neon coffee signs, you know you’re at the right spot when greeted by the brightest smile and kind hello from owner Aja! Her knowledge and skills of coffee and tea are impressive and leave you intrigued with the world of speciality coffee (that quite honestly has had a pretentious edge until now).

My go-to is an iced matcha with Aja’s homemade strawberry syrup. Winter depression is afraid of how these perfectly blended flavors hint at the best summer you’ve ever had.

Sprint!! Don't run! This little gem that Aja has built is incredible! I'm no coffee aficionado, BUT I know great coffee when I taste it. AND THIS IS IT! From the coffee, to the cute little shop, to the amazing personalities, I can not recommend Give & Take Coffee enough. Such a cool vibe, and a beautiful soul!
