Let Leo be your spirit guide while you traverse the Lost Saint craft cocktail booklet in this magical speakeasy. Start your journey with a curated cocktail by Leo from his menu, order dinner from Tavern & Grocery upstairs [their Charred Brussel Sprouts and the Butternut Risotto were phenomenal], order another cocktail or two, but don’t forget about their full bottle bar with items like Weller Full Proof and HW Bourye, among many other great whiskey - just ask Leo for a recommendation. Lost Saint is an awesome experience with Leo’s abundant spirit knowledge and craft bartending expertise. We highly recommend a visit for wonderful service, delicious food, and the best craft cocktails in a speakeasy vibe. Just note that Lost Saint is in the basement of Tavern & Grocery and it is not family friendly. A few of our whiskey craft cocktail favorites: Old Fashioned Romance (Strong, Bitter, Fruity), Dragon’s Blood, O’s (Strong, Smokey, Sweet). This will forever be our Charlottesville staple stop!

Is it too soon to say this is my spirit home? Probably but between the drinks and apps. This has been my favorite spot in Charlottesville. I got the Burn the Strega (get it, it’s amazing) and the Dirty old Man (?) both were the best and I kinda want to make them at home. And the bison tartare is to die for. Love love love.

Loved this tucked away speak easy! The cocktails were fresh and made to order and so delicious. The vibe was just cool and fun with great music playlist and gorgeous chandelier and cute lights and quirky knick knacks around the room. Definitely recommend for a drink!

Charlottesville is chock full of excellent food and cocktail options. Lost Saint is a standout. This cozy hideaway not only offers a super cool, speakeasy atmosphere but also some of the best cocktails in the city. This place has THE BEST service of any place we've visited.

Colin and Mitra have been there during both of our visits. They work together like a well oiled machine to make sure everyone is happy and tended to with the perfect amount of attentiveness. The mixology skills of these guys is spectacular. They can offer amazing recommendations based on your tastes or preference for a specific spirit or you can leave it totally in their hands and have them whip up a surprise. No matter which way you go, you will certainly not be disappointed.

The last time we visited, I left my credit card on the table after paying and Mitra literally ran two blocks to catch us before we got in the car to make sure I didn't leave without it. So grateful!

The snacks are also fun and delicious. Who knew fried olives would be a craveable treat?! Excellent cheese options and evidently the chicken sandwich is to die for. If you haven't been, look for the glowing light at tavern & grocery. If it's on, wind your way down to an unforgettable experience. If I lived in Cville, I'd be...

The drinks are good, however our group was really treated poorly. The bartender felt offended that one member of a 5 person group tipped too low and followed us out of the restaurant and proceeded to berate him in front of all of us... And in front of everyone on the sidewalk.

I understand the bartender being upset, but this was totally unprofessional and completely contrary to the upscale vibe (I would also argue it was uncalled for for given the fact that I gave a 25% tip on a bill that was twice as expensive). Our group was pretty laid back, so I do not think our behavior contributed. At least somewhere in the middle of his rant the bartender did acknowledge the rest of were "generous..."

What was even worse was that the manager came out and proceeded to gas light the group when we explained our concern, rather than addressing the complaint.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any reasonable excuse for that kind of behavior and treatment. Humiliating somebody is really uncalled for, and honestly ruined the night for the entire group. It was an unprofessional overreaction that was frankly classless, and I will not be going back or recommending that...

I stopped in here for the first time a little over a month ago on my way back from a hiking trip. I'm glad I did. I went to the downstairs bar and had a couple drinks before their last call. I was extremely impressed by how personable the bartender was that was helping me that night. He was exactly what you'd hope for in a bartender in this type of establishment. Knowledgeable on the drinks, informative several matters, gregarious, and didnt seem to mind holding actual conversations with his bar patrons. In addition, the other bartender with whom I interacted seemed to be the same way. Further, a waitress that was coming up to the bar for her table's drinks was also extremely friendly. For those of you thinking this staff friendliness resulted in un-prompt and slow service, think again. Service was not at all stymied by this. I don't review too many business on Goolge. But I made it a point to do so for this one. The fact that I took time out of my day to do this review over a month after my visit to this establishment should speak for itself. I'll certianly come back next time I'm in...
