Mona Lisa Pasta Inc — Restaurant in Charlottesville

Their frozen meals come with incorrect directions. We have followed their directions precisely numerous times and always end up waiting more than two hours for a meal to cook at 400°.

Our gas oven has no issues cooking baked goods and other foods within specified times, so I have to pin the blame on Mona Lisa's instructions.

As I stand beside my oven, which has been cooking their mac and cheese at 400° for over an hour and a half, the internal temperature from our probe thermometer still reads 32°.

Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious, but I'm always disappointed that the instructions don't lead to the desired cook time.

I called once to make sure the directions were correct and the gentleman on the line assured me that they've dialed in their directions to be correct. Perhaps there are more precise directions needed (e.g. convection vs conventional), but I'd still fault them for not including that, were...

While staying in the area for work, I stopped in for a very late lunch (just a sandwich), not knowing this was not only a restaurant (with pizza, pasta, and sandwiches to take out), but also a little “take & bake” and Italian grocery store. After ordering my sandwich, I saw many things that caught my eye, on shelves and in their freezer, so I ended up picking up several more items to take home.

My sandwich was AWESOME! I got the Val d’Aosta Sandwich and the focaccia it was on was incredible! The meats, toppings, etc all came together perfectly and it was really tasty!

I’d love to go back and try their pizza next time…. They have a beautiful brick oven pizza flaming up in the kitchen, which is viewable from the store. Staff was very helpful and friendly too! Highly recommend!! But if you want to dine in, it’s more of a carry-out with one (maybe two?) table...

I never write reviews but Mona Lisa Pasta is worth the time to say a few words about how awesome their food is. Their custom sandwiches are THE BEST I’ve had in Charlottesville and I have always had an excellent experience here. Not only is their food amazingly tasty but it’s also affordable. I make pasta @ home but when I don't have the time this is the place I would go for anything Italian. Awesome place, awesome atmosphere, excellent customer service!!! I would put it on my top 5 places to get food to go in...
