Cream N' Kone is a terrific seafood restaurant which my family and I have enjoyed over the last 10+ years. If you're looking for the best fried seafood on eastern Cape Cod, this is a must visit.
The restaurant is very comfortable, but unassuming. There is both inside and outside dining and the both are immaculate despite the historic high volume of visitors. Now is an excellent time to visit as peak season has not yet started and the limitations imposed by decreased capacity from Covid has made it a very easy effort to get your meal.
The menu has a terrific selection of fresh seafood that receives a very light, flavorful coating before being fried just the right amount of time in clean, hot oil. Whatever you order will be properly cooked and the side dishes are excellent. We enjoy the cole slaw, fries, and onion rings which really complement the rest of the meal.
The restaurant has a variety soft drinks as well as a couple of cold traditional beers as well as a small, rotating selection of craft beers, on tap. An ice cream bar was added a few years ago and has a nice selection of frozen treats to round out the experience.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well as being more than willing to help you select your meal if you're unfamiliar with the menu. A smile always seems to be available.
I give it my highest recommendation and think you will also after you've given it a try....
Read moreChatham Kream N' Kone has the best fried seafood around. The whole bellied clams and scallops can't be beat. The plates have both fries, and the very thin onion rings which you'll want to eat first. Big enough to share. The fish sandwich is ginormous. It's nice to have good draft beer and wine options too if you're going to dine in. The place is a noisy beach town clam shack on Main St with plenty of picnic tables outside, as well as booths inside. If you're not too full after, there are hard and soft ice cream cones and sundaes, as well as frappes (even malted). This is not the place to go for fancy fine dining, but if you want the Cape Cod experience of fried seafood and very good chowder, look no further. Read moreThis is a no-frills, old school, order at the counter and then grab your own table inside or out kind of place. If that's what you're looking for, then you'll have no complaints. Large variety of seafood options, and differnt size options, which was great. I ordered appetizer sized servings of fried clams, fried scallops, and fried oysters. The frying/breading was light and not overpowering. It was my first time having fried clams, would recommend. One of our travelers has been coming to the Cape since the 60s and this was one of his recommendations. Based on who came and went while we were eating, it definitely seemed to be a place locals and long time regulars visit. If you're not looking for seafood, the menu is limited and probably not...
