Boyfriend and I decided to order from here out of curiosity. We had low expectations because the place is in a dirty area and the building doesn't look nice. Really surprised- we enjoyed EVERYTHING.
But before I get to the food I need to explain the one star knock down- delivery was unacceptably late. Their website already says the wait is about an hour for delivery, and our delivery wasn't here until 30 minutes after that. We waited an hour and a half for our food and the delivery driver didn't even mention it or apologize.
Boyfriend got sweet and sour chicken. It was the best we've had in Chattanooga. My grandparents are from China and used to own a restaurant when I was a little girl, and this sweet and sour chicken was exactly like theirs. Since growing up I usually don't eat sweet and sour chicken anymore, but I couldn't help but steal a few pieces because of the nostalgia I was getting.
I had roast pork and broccoli. It was still super hot even though the food was very late and the broccoli was crisp and not soggy, which is something I always worry about from Chinese take out. The sauce was well balanced, but there could have been a tad more of it.
My boyfriend also got the pupu platter, and the portions in it were huge. The egg rolls were full sized and crisp- not soggy. The chicken wings were full sized wings rather than little wings you'd order at a sport bar. My boyfriend loved the skewers of beef the most.
Really pleasantly surprised by the food quality and portions for a cheap hole in the wall. Will not order delivery from them again though- better to just...
Read moreSo , I ordered from this place about 2-3 hours early and requested a delivery at 8:15 pm. 8:15 came and no food so I called and they said they were making it. I didn't get my food until almost 8:50 PM!!!! And this was after I gave them almost 3 hours notice. Second I am a vegetarian and ordered veggie Moo shu. Well I got the mooshu and it smelled a little funny almost like rot when I warmed it up ( i thought maybe its some funny sauce or something) for the next day and started to eat the veggtables were almost raw and it had strands of what appears to be chicken in it!!! I called the restaurant immediately and an asian woman answered and acted like she didn't speak English well or understand well. She told me I should have called yesterday basically but that I could bring it in. I don't have time to run a round town and get a refund. I have other things to do. I will also say the delivery guy seemed a bit rude. The place I was at was enclosed with a fence and a gate that opens easily. But he did not get out of his car untill I came to the gate. This was just bad service all the way around. I will not be ordering from this...
Read moreThe staff was friendly. The wait time was almost non existent.
I ordered by phone. They waited until I drove 15 minutes there and paid to tell me they didn’t have one of the items I ordered. I wasn’t mad, but very annoyed because had I known that, I would’ve canceled the entire order.
The sesame chicken, itself was good. I got special rice for the side, which they tried to upcharge me $6! The regular price for a pint of the special rice is $5.75. Keep in mind, the sesame chicken dinner comes with white rice free or fried rice for $1 extra. The rice was dry...that all I have to say about that. The only thing good was the shrimp. The rice, beef, and chicken was just bland.
Lastly, just the environment of the facility. I didn’t expect nothing fancy, but they had babies in high chairs RIGHT behind the counter. What I could see was just trashy. Lol. I was recommended to try this place. It was an “OKAY”...
