I usually don't review but when I spend 14$ on a meal, don't make me regret not going to one of the many fast food chains on the street. 3.50$ for heat lamp bacon, frozen sausage patties from basically Walmart, eggs that were served partially cold left under a heat lamp while preparing my frozen sausage patties. Somehow the oatmeal was ruined aswell. Only good thing was toast. If you want ur fill of carbohydrates. This place is ur choice. If u have kids and are not trying to put on more weight this isn't the place for you. Do yourself a favor go Wendy's same amount of protein. Literally ruined my day trying to fathom a all breakfast place losing there passion for what they serve. The owner has given up clearly. Update- tried a second time to try it one more time, got food poisoning. Stop supporting this place, prices are way to high...
Read moreI am having breakfast in this little cafe with all the old men on the south east side of Chattanooga.
A fellow fell on the side walk on the way in. His friends and his usual server went out to help him up. They had a cup of coffe waiting at his table.
No one made a fuss. It was clear that they were aware of his pride. I heard a few folks murmur that he had had a stoke a couple of weeks ago. His wife died at Christmas.
He’s been coming in here to have coffee for 20 years. Ever since he had retired.
The Hungry House been a local favorite for 37 years.
I love places like this. I love meeting locals. If you are ever in Chattanooga skip all the trendy skinny jean’s restaurants downtown and head on over to the local greasy spoon.

Read moreI finally got into the Hungry House. I've been waiting to do that and I don't know why I've waited. I did noticed it inside it was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly when I walked in the door the hello take a seat anywhere you want. Of course Saturday 10 a.m. there weren't many seats open but I did get a booth. The waitress was very friendly she had a smile on her face every time she went by. All the staff here seem to be smiling and enjoying their work. Seem to be a lot of happy customers around. I had the bacon and egg omelette with a biscuit and gravy and both were Simply Delicious. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at the Hungry House. I will...
