On August 17, 2024, I arrived at the Waffle House on Highway 58 around 6:30pm. There were 2 customers eating and as I entered, I approached thr counter and thr employee, Kentrell, said “Welcome to Waffle House.” I told him I was ordering a to-go order and he began to take my order. I ordered a All-Star Breakfast. I am not a big fan of eggs, so I asked if I could substitute and Kentrall said in a snooty tone, “I could, but it wouldn't be an All-Star. I'll have to charge you for each item at a higher price.” Then he said “hold up” and walked to the register to check out the customers who had finished their meal. Then he returned to take my order and by that point, I decided to just buy the All-Star as is and just throw the eggs away. He then tried to sell me an extra order of hashbrowns and I declined. I always order the All-Star and choose bacon and add on an order of sausage and that is what I did this time. He didn't call out the sausage to the cook who pushed my toast back into the toaster twice and burned my toast. When I told Kentrall he forgot to tell him about my order of sausage, he said “all I heard was bacon.” He also told me that there was only 1 butter left in the whole restaurant and said "I guess, I'll give that to you." When reminded him of my add-on request, he smiled and said “well look, that's not how I heard it. I mean I’ll have to charge you extra.” I know it's an extra charge. It's like he was making an assumption that I wanted free food. He even tried to make me pay upfront but the white patrons did not have to pay before getting their food and Kentrell, is African American himself. When he refused to tell the cook about my add-on order, I got up and left. It appears that the original day shift crew is gone and I'm not sure if he and the new cook only want a all-white clientele or hood mentality customers because he refused to serve me. It's like he wants to force African Americans to pay upfront and treat them like there trying to get a hand out. He needs to realize the decisions he's made to acquire a low-level restaurant job, along with the string of other low paying jobs he has and will acquire in his lifetime, is his fault. He is extremely rude and overtaken by the individualistic, hood, and sell-out mentality created by a...
Read moreI went to the Waffle House location on Highway 58 after work, like I normally do on a weekly basis. My father and I both ordered the All Star Special, I don't eat eggs and usually he just scrapes the eggs off my plate onto his plate. This time, he asked the waitress to tell the cook to put all the eggs on the plate with the single hashbrown (his plate), instead of the plate with the double hashbrowns (my plate). The waitress said okay and told the cook, but the cook plated them on both plated anyways. So my dad saw this and told the waitress we wanted the eggs on the plate with the single hashbrown, but he told them not to worry about it. The cook said okay and went our back to take a smoke break. So we expected to receive our plated and he would just scrape the eggs onto his plate as usual. We come to Waffle House almost every night after work, so this waitress and cook knows our order and recognizes us as regulars. Instead of just giving our plates, the waitress scraped my dad's hashbrowns onto a separate plate by themselves and then scrapped both the eggs in top of his hashbrowns. There was a mountain of eggs and hashbrowns and she shoved the plate in his face. My dad explained that this was not what he wanted and the waitress began to argue that this is exactly what he said he wanted. Another waitress overheard the conversation and apologized and said it was a miscommunication and offered to cook new eggs and hashbrowns as the cook was still on break. My dad explained that he did not want to wait for a mistake that should not have ever happened and the waitress who made the mistake, Sarah, she is the waitress who has a large hump in her back and has trouble walking, she began yelling and said he should have been more clear. My father examined that he had been clear and that he did not want his eggs on top of his hashbrowns but simply on his plate instead of mine and she kept yelling. A young customer yelled that he would take the food and she gave him the food and wanted us to sit there until the other waitress recooked his order. So we would have to wait because of her mistake and still pay while someone received free food. We opted to leave and go elsewhere. We are regulars here and this type of behavior should not be tolerated toward...
Read moreThe waitress who served us around 1 am today was the worst server my husband and I have had in the 4.5 years we've been dining here. First, their was something spilled righ as you walk in. Then the handicap table was filthy so she appeared aggravated to have to clean it off for us. We got drinks first and she brings me a half a cup of coffee. She took our order then tends to a to go order. She brought us two waffles in which they was both almost burnt. My husband loves the waffles so he asked her to remake them and she grabs them up rolling her eyes, no I'm sorry about that or nothing. When I got the rest of my breakfast, my eggs was cooked wrong. The cook apologized to me and remade them as she continued helping the lady with the to go order. Now my half a cup of coffee is gone and my husband's drink is empty as well. I got her attention to let her know I needed more coffee and she looks at me and says "I'll have to make more, it's all gone" as she does more eye rolling. My husband is nearly choking trying to eat without his drink yet she ignored him to care for more to go orders as slowly as she could. I offer him a drink of my water as she walks by us for the third time. She finally brought me a new cup of coffee in which I had to ask for a clean cup because the half of cup I got first had apparently been sitting a while. She continued to ignore my husband had no drink left so I told him to go ahead and pay. We are normally big tippers but she showed absolutely no reason why I should give her a dime. The lady getting a to go order was still standing at register when we left. This was the worst service we've ever experienced at this location and it was bad enough that we won't be back if this...
