The food was awesome and if the service was better, I would recommend this place to everyone. As it is, the first thing I did when I returned to work was to tell everyone to not go there. Someone already mentioned they don't, for the same reason.
I will note, that our server was probably the epitome of the worst. Other tables were more important, taking out trash, cleaning out coffee urns, and hanging out in the kitchen. Anything other than serving the customer.
After finishing our meal, we waited to ask someone for a to-go container. One of the ladies at our table ended up grabbing two from the shelf. We continued to sit, wondering where our server was at. After returning from the bathroom, I go up to the bar where she is cleaning something and request the check. She then tells me that one of them will come to the table and give us the check. First off, if we had realized that any of the servers could help us, we would have gladly flagged them down. They served our table better than our girl.
When she approached the table she obviously did it with an attitude, throwing down the check and standing there waiting for my credit card. At this point, why on earth would I want to wait for her to return with my card? I basically tell her to go away that we are paying with cash.
First off, I always do a tip and I will always pay more than 20% if I feel like the service went above and beyond. This service was bottom of the barrel and pretty much received bottom of the barrel of a tip. Yes, I'm sure we were talked about for the rest of the afternoon about how much tip she received, but it equaled the service we received.
I'm sure if the owners or manager are interested, they could watch our behavior for most of the meal on camera. It was us always looking around to find someone to flag down for help, either napkins or the to-go containers which we retrieved on our own.
So I hope the lady with the two pigtails on the top of her head has a better day and serves people equally without attitude in the future. Kudos to the kitchen for great food! If my tip had gone somewhere, it would have been to the hostess, she was kind and awesome.
Btw, we were at Neighbors on 6/26 around 11:45am, so the place wasn't...
Read moreI have loved eating breakfast and brunch at this place for 5 years. It’s always been my favorite place to get mimosa’s! When we got there around 9:30-9:40, one of the hostess was very unfriendly. I thought, maybe it’s just because she’s still tired and the rest of the experience will be great. We orders a carafe of mimosas for the table. It came, and I poured a glass. Right as I was about to drink it, there was black and brown specs floating through my glass. Now I am very understanding, but that is simply not going to cut it especially since this has never happened before. I told one of our waitresses and she said, “it’s probably coffee grounds. It gets in everything if that makes you feel better.” I full heartedly think she expected us to keep drinking it because it took her a while to offer us a new one. I told her it doesn’t make me feel better so she was very annoyed she had to get us another one. We were sitting by the bar and you could see everyone behind the bar side eyeing us. That doesn’t bother me, but at least don’t be noticeable about it. She brought the new carafe and they didn’t fill it up all the way. I wasn’t going to say anything until my friend looked at me and said, “that’s definitely not filled up like the last one.” Another waitress came to our table after we waited a while to get our check. She asked if it was together or separate and we said separate. It was very evident she wasn’t happy about that because she clinched her fist as she walked away and shook her head. So of course I asked her if she was having a bad day when she came back because I saw the face she made. As any embarrassed person, she played dumb and said oh my gosh that’s just my face. I’ve worked in customer service for years and am now in the education field. If it was busy, I would have sympathy. But it wasn’t. Do better. Oh the food was...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience here. We waiting for a table for over an hour and when it became available it sat for 10 minutes. When we asked when we would be sat they told us they were waiting on making us waters (before even sitting us). The table sat for another 10 minutes. We watched them clean 2 other tables during that time. We asked again. They said they were sitting us now and when we Went to sit down we asked if they had the staff to handle this. They said yes. We waited another 5 minutes and decided to leave. I called the manager and she made the excuse that they make sure the kitchen can handle before they sit tables. We asked them that before and they said they could handle it. It’s poorly managed and the staff seems to not care. We will not return to this or any other restaurant owned by this owner.
(In response to the owners reply) I never suggested a larger kitchen. I suggested telling the staff to not say things that contradict what is actually happening. Example telling us that there is enough staff to handle our table, than being told there was not enough to be ready for 6 people, with a bunch of open tables.
For the time we were waiting there were a lot of tables open that had “reservations”. Those tables were open the whole waiting time…which was over an hour.
Your staff was not friendly and by some of the reviews I read, I’m not the only one that...
