Let me tell you this! I absolutely LOVE Portobello’s! Everything is always very fresh and delicious. I could not even imagine that I would enjoy meals so much and always look forward to going back! The first time I ordered food, I got the whole Philly Cheese Steak to go. Their wrapping technique kept my sandwich hot and very tasty until I got home to eat it (I don’t like cold food and figured I would have to warm it up)! I had planned to only eat half of it and save the other half for another meal. I couldn’t help myself. I ate all of it! I went back the next week and ordered the shrimp scampi and a large pizza to go. All I can say is wow! I cleaned my plate! They don’t skimp on the large shrimp (I cut each shrimp into three pieces)! The sauce was incredibly tasty, and included both red and yellow tomatoes, a salad, and fresh bread with butter. My to-go pizza had the biggest slices of pizza! Absolutely hands-down some of the freshest ingredients you’ll find. The crust was not too thick, and exactly how I like my pizza crust. They also honored my request of light sauce with extra cheese that I forgot to tell them initially with no problem. I put my extra slices in the freezer, and they still had that great fresh taste! I even gave a friend a piece, and was told that it was some of the best pizza they’ve had as well! I have also ordered the philly cheesesteak again to make sure I wasn’t dreaming! It didn’t disappoint me with the same wonderful flavors I love. I’m not the easiest to impress because I come from a long line of cooks with a sibling being an executive chef, too. The restaurant gives me a family-vibe and I talked with a couple of other diners who were enjoying spaghetti and meatballs and a chicken dish (I don’t remember the name of it). They said that they enjoy everything about this place as well! That encouraged me to go outside of what I’ve had so far. Everything was top-notch. The restuarant was “homey”, and the owners were so very kind, friendly, and accommodating. What a great combination: great food and service in a clean and inviting atmosphere for single diners like me, couples, families, and out-of-town guests. In many ways it reminded me of the authentic Italian food that I had in Italy years ago on the Amalfi Coast and especially the mountain village of Ravello. My palette says, you can’t go wrong with Portobello’s!

This small, independently owned restaurant is Top Tier for authentic Italian taste. We’ve driven past this building for years not knowing what an extensive menu we were missing out on. The salad was beautifully plated with perfectly chilled and crunchy Romaine, fresh shredded Mozzarella, onion, olives and a banana pepper served with house made crusty bread. I had the Puttanesca on fettuccine, which is a delightfully light sauce with sautéed garlic, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, olives and capers. My mother had the Pasta primavera which features broccoli, spinach, and mushrooms in a light white sauce topped with cheese. My brother had the lasagna, which was oozing with melted mozzarella, just like he likes it. This restaurant is an Italian oasis amid the fine dining desert that is Highway 58. You can bring your own wine too. My only caveat to this experience is the decor could use a refresh. Great up close parking. The bill for three entrees and one coffee was $54.86 before tip.

Move over Olive Garden - the REAL Italians have come to town!!! I found this place by accident while making a turn around for my GPS to another restaurant, but the "hole in the wall" esthetic lured me in. What they lack in curb appeal, they make up for by being some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The bread sticks come out piping hot and misshapenly perfect - a welcome change from their uniformly bland commercial counterparts! The Primavera is decadent and creamy and the vegetables perfectly done. The italian authenticity doesn't stop at the food - at one point the cook could be heard yelling at someone in Italian in the kitchen, enhancing the experience even further. This place has earned a very special place in my heart, as well as my stomach. 10/10 Caio Bella ❤

We just had a HORRIFIC experience with this restaurant. I have been coming here since I was in high school (I am now 26, married, and pregnant with my first child).

We placed an order online, and made additional requests, specifically stating my allergies (tomatoes and mushrooms) and that we would like to add chicken.

There was no option online to pay for an upcharge of chicken, so I assumed the restaurant would call or ask us to pay for the upcharge once we arrived to pick up the food.

Not only did my order not have chicken, but it was loaded with tomatoes and mushrooms.

My husband went back inside to state that the order was wrong and asked that they remake it and offered to pay for the upcharge in chicken since the website didn’t offer that option. They told him since it had already been made, there was nothing they could do. I then called in and spoke with the lady who usually answers the phones, she then handed the phone to another employee and he offered to give a refund since the item contained tomatoes. (Mind you, we never left the parking lot).

My husband went back inside to get the refund and was told they would just remake the item instead of giving a refund. Even though less than 2 minutes prior we were promised a refund.

I called back in and tThe lady was beyond rude, disrespectful, and condescending making statements like “You listen to me. We’re remaking the food and you'll take what we give you.” I said “No. We were told we’d receive a refund. We offered to pay for the upcharge in chicken and that offer was denied. We are no longer interested in having the food.” She started YELLING at me and then hung up on me!!

I’m not sure if it was a racial issue since my husband is of color (they were rude to him in person and fairly cordial with me over the phone until the lady got back in the phone). What I do know is that this is the rudest interaction I’ve ever had with a restaurant.

We did everything we could do on our end to find a resolution, but unfortunately, the restaurant runners were beyond immature and unprofessional and could have caused me, a seven-month pregnant woman, a severe allergic attack by not confirming that at the very least the allergies I noted in the comments be removed.

Awful service, awful attitudes, and awful...

I wasn't able to ask enough questions about the food we ordered (chicken toscano I think) because I don't think the waitress fully understood English. I could be wrong, forgive me if so, but they seemed Hispanic serving Italian food which is odd? Not saying it can't happen but I was confused. I didn't pay attention to where it said spaghetti noodles so when we got it, it looked less appealing than what I cook at home. For the food we got it was overpriced and the appearance did nothing much (looked cheap). We had shrimp added to our meal but it was $15 for only 3 large shrimp on each plate (2 plates total). I mean the dessert plate was pretty but I should have gotten cheesecake ($3.50) instead of tiramisu (considering price $6.50 or so). I could have been more satisfied at ChefLin (buffet) and paid $50 cheaper and our son would have eaten (free). Kids plate (Alfredo) came out extremely hot but he didn't want it anyway. I ended up buying him some chicken fries at Burger King afterwards. Not satisfied at all but the waitress was kind. I thought maybe we ordered the wrong thing but more than likely...
