If you're looking for a proper gourmet wood-fired pizza and high quality pasta, this is the place. I visited Ciao twice over the same long weekend simply because it really was that good.
First and foremost, a huge shout-out to Flor who, both times, took care of me and my party as well as recommended great bottles of wine. She is very friendly and always spoke with a smile on her face.
The space is limited and allows for a more personal experience, however not the most comfortable depending on size of party.
The food itself was outstanding. The pizza dough is amazingly soft and fresh, as were the rest of the ingredients. I had the margherita as well as the shrimp pizza. I cannot stress how great the margherita is. The shrimp was also full of flavor but I judge a place by how they do the classic and ciao does not disappoint.
For pastas, I would highly recommend the fettuccine. The pasta and cream were delicious. I also tried the gnocchetti, which to me was like a beef stew with the gnocchetti pasta on top. It was good, and I can tell they do it well, but not my favorite.
Finally, for desserts, the freshly, in-house made cannoli was a crowd favorite. The tiramisu was also good but pretty on par with expected.
Also forgot to mention I had some salad. It was alright but mostly because I'm not a salad guy. If you are a salad individual, try the salad.
Regardless, not sure why you're still reading this and haven't placed your order because you clearly should be eating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this restaurant more stars, I would. This place definitely deserves every one of its accolades and in no small part to its exceptional and courteous staff. Every one was hustling but still delivered exceptional customer service, something increasingly rarer here in the Boston area. From the nice and polite young ladies serving us to the guys in the back making the delicious pizzas we ate, everyone was exceptional.
Customer service 1 million stars out of 5. THIS is what makes it worth returning. I really can't stress how nice/courteous everyone was here.
Food 5/5. We had the Americana and Funghi and these were exceptional. The crust was cooked to perfection, the cheese/topping/sauce ratios on point, the ingredients fresh.
Setting/Ambiance 5/5. This place is the smallest, cutest, most quaint and romantic evening setting one could ask for on a casual date with one's loved one. It's not for large parties. There was something incredibly charming about the small space in the back, the nice breeze, and the hostesses turning on the mood lighting in the back. Definitely bringing my boo back here again.
Thank you for making our visit amazing, Ciao! Pizza & Pasta. We are glad we decided to pay this place a visit for amazing pizza with amazing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my first pie here after being let out of jury duty early. My wife suggested that I immediately make my way over as they had just opened at 11am, so I hopped the street from Chelsea Courthouse and ordered myself a Margarita Pizza add Pepperoni. Pipping hot & fresh out of the wood fired oven, this is how pizza should be eaten. It was more than enough for a lunch, even having skipped breakfast, but I finished it anyway, it was that delicious. Simple good fresh ingredients made this pie a treat. The crust was a good thickness & crispiness thanks to the oven & the the sauce stayed out of the limelight, accenting & enhancing the featured toppings. I'd recommend you EOS (eat on site) as the smaller size of the pie would quickly cool below perfect temp. There's not a lot of seating, but it's a quick bite & they do serve drinks including sparkling juices, beer & even espresso shots (or maybe that was just for the kitchen). Great service with a friendly smile invites conversation & made the overall experience charming. Highly recommend you sit for a pie at this locally owned neighborhood pizza stop. I know...
