TERRIBLE!! Go to one of the multiple places on the same street. It was a complete nightmare, worst experience in a restaurant EVER! First it's very loud. I figured what the hell, it's Saturday night. The servers are dressed like they're pimping themselves out and all their attention goes to the men in the place. We waited 20 minutes for the server to come over to get our drink order. Then took another 20 minutes to come over to get our order. Our drinks arrived 20 minutes after that. I wanted to leave but my kids were hungry. Ordered the food and sat there for 40 min. The bartender was taking shots with patrons. There was a large party going on, only 5 people there when we arrived but more guests for the party would walk in every 15-20 minutes. Each and every person that arrived after we did got their food before we did. When the food finally arrived, my fish looked and tasted like they "cooked" it in the microwave. My son's enchiladas did not look appetizing at all and he said they tasted weird. My youngest ordered a cheeseburger, yes, he's a picky eater. I had asked for nothing on it, only mayo. They put lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on it. Sent it back, told them again how he wanted it. By this time, my oldest and I had stopped eating. They bring out the burger again exactly the same way! When I got a little louder and explained once again, just a cheeseburger, the meat, and cheese with mayo and bread. They brought out bread with mayo. I lost it. Went straight to the "owner" who was a complete idiot! We paid for our drinks and left. The only good thing was the woman who sings. She was very friendly. That's it! Worst...
Read moreMi Salvador was an auditory as well as gastronomic experience. When I walked through that door, I forgot I was in Boston. My friend ordered a Colombian steak plate with chicharrón, the highlight of our meal. The portion sizes are extremely generous with rice, beans, salad, plantains, and extra tortillas, so bring your entire posse along for good food and karaoke.
The most memorable part was the deafening karaoke coming through the tinny, bass-heavy speakers, which made conversation difficult but was fun to witness. The restaurant manager would periodically wrestle the mic away from the hands of over-enthusiastic singers, sparing us from their out-of-tune warbling by singing a few songs himself.
Although the tacos al pastor and the beef enchiladas weren’t quite as succulent as those in the mercados in Mexico City, they got the flavors right. Strangely, the horchata tasted more like Nesquik than a rice-based drink. This may appear to be a critical review, but the positives far outweighed our minor quibbles.
10/10 would recommend if you crave quasi-authentic Mexican food in a rambunctious atmosphere. Absolutely worth the...
Read moreI was fairly excited to come here on the recommendation of a friend. sad to say my experience was not the same. let’s start
I came in to order Sopes and Tacos. I ended up leaving with 3 orders of tacos because they didn’t let me get one order of 3 different proteins. that’s okay, that’s their right to do so.
I ended up getting Tripa, Lengua and Birra Orders of tacos. To start, the tortillas felt cold and some even felt like they were not cooked long enough. i felt warm and cold spots on the tortillas on all three orders.
Tripa, this lacked flavor across the board. Even with Cilantro and Onion, it just felt bland. it was also fairly dry.
Lengua, was just super soggy as well as bland.
Birria, this was the most flavorful and we enjoyed it but without being paired with a warm tortilla is just didn’t hit the same way
To add some additional context, i am a man who love spicy but enjoy a favorable salsa. The green sauce felt like just water was added to the Taco. I didn’t get any feel of a jalapeño or a Chile mixed in to give it spicy or flavor for that matter. their red sauce did have a small kick but was on...
