La Mesa Market — Restaurant in Chelsea

I come here consistently. Most of the time, the service is subpar. The staff seems interested in blasting music like it’s a nightclub compared to helping customers & drivers from food delivery apps who are waiting on orders. It shouldn’t take that long to make orders, you have to be efficient, when running a business because that’s how you lose clientele. If you want constructive criticism, My suggestion for improvement is please add a system. Perhaps, one staff member can help customers in the front solely, a couple of the staff in the back solely makes the food for the customers and some staff members who just packages the food. Would be a great start for improvement from witnessing from other successful restaurants in the area, that usually gets 5’s. 20-30 minutes is a long time and it shows lack of respect to the customers time, who is paying for your service. Additionally, whenever I get the food. The oil from the food, it seems old or expired and leaves a foul odor. Do you guys check the products in the morning before giving it out? Doesn’t seem right to me in a respectful manner especially when you guys are charging more higher prices than the usual within the Chelsea area. Check the quality of your products before dispatching! It seems the customers are noticing a decrease of quality in the food and I would have to agree with the reviews for sure. This is why it’s a one for now. If you guys address the service and food issues, I am happy to raise it to a 5 stars since I do recognize it’s a small business and I would like for it to succeed for sure. Listen, these barria tacos are absolutely fantastic. Recipes and food quality are par to none. However, the staff and location are not equipped to serve more than a few orders at a time. I don’t think they knew how long/how many orders they were going to get. They lost our simple order (2 barria taco plates and 1 drink), despite writing it down on a tab. We’ve both worked in restaurants for years and understand the chaos of a busy time…but this was before the rush. They initially told us 30-40 mins and it was almost 2 hours by the time we actually got food. We had to follow up multiple times, & ask all workers if they remembered/knew the status of our order…and they couldn’t give us an answer. People that ordered before us got their orders 15-20 mins before we did. I can’t say we’ll be back (which is unfortunate because the tacos were delicious) the frustration...

I can’t not begin to describe how bad this tacos actually are. I try a lot of different places that sell Birria tacos cause I want to see how good they get each time, i ordered for delivery and it was a complete mess, the tacos were open and most of the stuff was mainly scattered but it looked like it was cooked and prepped that way so it wouldn’t be the drivers fault. There was barely any sauce in the cup and the tacos were very very soggy, I had eat one and then on the second one I found a large strand of hair curled up in clumpy cheese🤮 I knew this wasn’t mine because it was black and I’m blonde. I threw away everything and started writing this and I just feel sick, I love Birria and this was pure disappointment, and with the reviews the service seems really bad so never ordering...
