When this place first opened it was the best. But I haven’t done here in a couple years now. Flavor of food has gone down greatly. We arrived as a party of 5. When our orders came out to our table only 2 of us received exactly what we ordered. My order consisted of steamed broccoli, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, coleslaw, catfish and a glass of sweet tea. 1: I had steamed broccoli with an extremely light hint of seasoning. When I say light I mean it was only visible and I could not taste it. I had to put salt on the broccoli to give it some flavor. I never salt my broccoli at home. I only use seasoning. The broccoli also needed to be steamed a bit longer. What I had just wasn’t tender enough. 2: the fried green tomatoes where to vinegary in taste. They need to add some sugar to their mixture to hide the vinegar flavor. 3: hush puppies were the size of melon balls with no onion in the mix and dry. These bite size or two bite hush puppie balls needs to be larger with onion in them. The onion will give the hush puppies moisture so they won’t be dry. 4: their coleslaw was runny, with very little mayo, to much sugar and far to much vinegar. I could definitely taste the sugar, barely saw the sauce mixture unless I scraped the slaw to the side of the dish revealing the runny sauce. 5: catfish is a bit skimpy in overall thickness. It’s like the fish went on a diet before being caught. A bit more salt needs to be added to the batter mixture as there was no flavor in any of the bites. The plus side, the catfish had no bones in it. 6: my sweet tea was far to strong in tea itself. I could barely taste the sugar. All I was tasting was tea. I added 8 packets of original sugar to my tea and it was still strong in tea flavor. I don’t know if the owner buys their foods frozen ready to cook as well as ready to use sauces or perhaps the tea. But adjustments will need to be implemented before I dine here again. If everything they serve is frozen ready to cook then they need to find a different company to order their food from.
Like I said only 2 plates were exactly as ordered, yet we paid full price for the screw up plates.
Average spent per person consisting of 3, on one ticket after taxes is $15.756 = $47.27 Average on ticket 2 was $15.94 = $31.88

Read moreWe had a great first experience here when stopping in for a late dinner. We had been in the area for other reasons but we’re hungry and looking for some good food in the area. We thought we’d give this place a shot. The parking lot was pretty full so we were a little concerned on whether it would be a long wait. Thankfully there was no wait at all and the service was very friendly and quick as well! No joking, I’d say our waitress came and checked on us 6-7 times during the meal just to make sure we didn’t need anything, she was great. The time between ordering and getting our food was quick as well. I opted for the fried catfish meal and my wife, the chicken tenders meal. Each came with a side and a side salad. The salads were brought out just a few minutes after ordering. Simple and small salad, but tasted crisp and fresh, dressings were flavorful. Then came our entrees shortly thereafter. I received three pieces of catfish, a little on the thin cut side, more like a catfish tender. I’d say the catfish was average. Good, but not extraordinary. A nice light coat of cornmeal breading, good texture and flavor. The tartar sauce was good, strong pickle flavor. That’s not a complaint or a praise, just an observation. My fries were hot and nicely crispy but could have used more salt. My wife was blown away by her entree. First off the tenders were HUGE!! I mean like each one the size of a breast! She didn’t even eat if half of them. Brought the rest home. She said they were very tender and juicy and the breading had just a very slight touch of heat. She also loved the honey mustard sauce she got with them. The only thing she didn’t much care for was her side, the sweet potato fries. She said they were weren’t very good, not crispy or very flavorful. We brought them home and will try to crisp them up in our air fryer and add more seasoning. We were both full or would have liked to try one of their desserts. They all sounded very good. If we return (we don’t live really close) we’d probably share a chicken tenders meal. This place is one I wouldn’t hesitate...
Read moreWe’ve ordered take out from Station 31 many times and it has always been delicious. Tonight was our first night to eat inside the restaurant and it was a disappointing experience.
The waitress was friendly, but she rushed us through our meal. She asked if we wanted to go boxes less than 10 minutes after receiving our food. She brought us our check without asking if we wanted another beer or dessert. We were going to stay and enjoy our kid free evening, but decided to leave instead. A different employee was sweeping next to our table, kind of gross to do near hot food. This was at 8:00 pm on a Friday.
The portions were generous. The side salad was great and the flounder was cooked nicely. However, it was SO spicy. I grew up on the gulf coast and enjoy blackened food! I think the cook went too heavy on the seasoning. Please consider warning customers if this is how food is typically seasoned. My husband ordered a medium sirloin. Instead, it was well done and chewy. The mashed potatoes were yummy, I just had to eat around the excessive amount of peels in them. I don’t mind some peels, but several bites were gritty.
Lastly, the restaurant was empty on one side, but they sat all of the customers very close together. It felt awkward. It seemed like the wait staff consisted mostly of teenagers. It may be helpful to mention that if their friends comes in to eat, to try to still act somewhat professional and not lay over their friends who were right next to us.
The dining experience lacked any atmosphere, maybe try playing some music? We will probably not eat...
