I have been to supa 3 times now and each and every time I have gone it has been a rough experience, the language barrier has constantly resulted in the wrong food being made or ingredients being messed up, or they tell me food will take 5-15 minutes and everytime I end up waiting up to an hour. I went in today to get food and the shop was definitely busy but there were a few open tables, so I went up to the front to get the large poke bowl and it was fine ordering because the lady was from around town and so the language barrier isn't an issue. So as I'm ordering I ask "how long will it take until my food is ready" and I get a reply with "10-15 minutes" and I say "okay that's fine, I have something important to go and do in about 30 minutes are you sure it'll take that long" and she responds with "yes I am sure" so I pay and wait... And wait... And wait.. and wait... I watch 2 different people come in, order, and get their food and start eating while I'm still sitting by the front door. And I'm watching the iPad with all the orders going in and out and I can read them and I noticed as shes going through orders (Lady who makes sushi and poke bowls) she starts getting rid of some orders she's already made. And well come to find out 30 minutes after I had already ordered she deleted my order in their to my surprise. So I'm still waiting and waiting and finally the lady I ordered with goes over to the lady making sushi and asks if I've been served yet and, she says "no"yet all the orders are cleared off her board and so then once they realize what happened, the lady making sushi calls me up to make my food. And as I've been sitting their watching everyone else order they get these huge scoops of salmon and tuna and whatnot then I get up their and they give me half the amount of what I'm watching being served to others (bear in mind I got the biggest bowl you can get so I should in theory I should get the same amount as everyone else) and I'm a little upset because the same thing happened last time I went in 2 days earlier, I watched other people get a lot more (my gf that I went in with got almost double what I did and we got the exact same thing). So today when I walk up I get a few slices of tuna and salmon I ordered. And the entire time it's back and forth. Me: " Can I get some spicy tuna and spicy salmon". her: " oh okay you want tuna" then only tuna gets put on and this repeats for most parts (which is fine because of the ethnicities but it's just frustrating having to repeat over and over). Then we get to the end where I ask for supa sauce and she asks "you want a lot?" and I say "Sure but not a ton, just enough for it to get most of it" and I'm not kidding she poured so much that it covered every part of the bowl and it left the bottom of the bowl as a large pool of sauce, so all the rice on the bottom was just drowned in sauce and everything on top was covered and dripping when I go to eat and I can't taste anything but supa sauce. This experience has not been a one time thing and it continues to be an issue whenever I go which really sucks because I like the people and it's the only sushi spot in Cheney that I'm aware of and I love sushi so I don't recommend going if your gonna get the Poke bowl specifically or you have a hard time handling language barriers because your order will likely get the wrong items or add-ons from what I've experienced everytime. BUT the good thing that comes from this is that they were nice and I can only assume each time has been an accident or miscommunication but it still really sucks I can't go in and get what I want without having some sort of issue. (The picture was after I had gotten home with my food 10 minutes later so the sauce had some...
Read moreUpon entering Supa, it appears very simply appointed and clean. The tables and chairs done in lighter colored wood enhance the light and cleanliness of the place. Each table has a plastic tub holding chopsticks completely encased in sanitary paper and a small pottery containing soy sauce. If you haven't ordered your food online (which I've yet to do at this point so can not review on this service) you'll need to walk to the counter several paces from the front door. The owner was present and quite pleasant and friendly. Happily answering any questions about the dishes and drinks available. We ordered the gyoza(4 pieces), which came with a shallow dish of ponzu sauce (a mild flavored sauce), which, when combined with the dumpling was very pleasing to the pallet. Next up was 3 pieces each of Tuna roll, Philadelphia roll, and California roll. They asked if we would like a separate dish to go with that which we accepted as we like to mix the Wasabi with the soy sauce for dipping our sushi in. The ingredients were very fresh, the rice was sticky, and it did not fall apart while dipping. While it was delicious, I couldn't help but think there was something missing about the rice ( I still can't quite put my finger on the answer to that as yet). Next was the Ramen bowl. I've never had Tonkotsu Ramen before, but I'll definitely be back for more! Tonkotsu has a pork broth base, a few pieces of pork belly (not too fatty, each a couple of inches long), ramen noodles, julienned carrots, sprouts, a modest crown of broccoli, and one soft boiled egg cut in half. I got the unspicy option, and my husband got the spicy option. The first bite to the last slurp was so delightful! The broth was very clean tasting. Which is to say it wasn't laden with fat that would line your mouth to obstruct any of the other wonderful flavors. The pork belly was meaty enough to provide a very nice satisfying chomp and needed to be bitten in half or thirds, which wasn't terribly difficult to do or awkward. Husband thought I should try a sip of his spicy Tonoksu broth for comparison. The spiciness wasn't too evident at first sip but was gradually warm and stopped before my personal panic point was met (I'm really a wuss about hot spicy foods, though, to be fair I'll will be steering clear of their 'Supa! Hell Ramen.lol). To drink, we ordered peach and mango cheese tea with Boba. It was very good, different, but good. It says 'cheese,' but to me, the topping was more of a heavy whipping cream type of texture. I did not take the lid off to explore further as I was more interested in the Tonkotsu at the time. The price point was easily on par for eating out these days. We WILL be going back to explore their Poke...
Read moreThis is hands down my favorite place in Cheney! I have been here easily over 20 times since it's opened and I have never had an Expirence that wasn't 5 stars, the entire is staff is so nice and no matter how busy it is they somehow tend to always get my order out quick, my favorite dish is the Chicken Teryaki Bowl and the Large Brown Sugar Bobba, I get this almost everytime and for how much food you get its easily worth the 20 dollars! I love the Fried Chicken Katsu and the Gyoza as well! I couldn't recommend this place more and the atmosphere is amazing, they always have a Studio Gibli movie running or some good Anime and I love whoever is on music duty haha thank you Supa so much, I haven't loved a local spot this much...
