This place…. is hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants in the entire region. While there are kings of the cuisine like Royal Izakaya and a few omakase places in Center City, this place is a complete underdog that could rival any of them, and may be better. My partner and I have tried so many places, and nothing quite comes like this. It’s in a small plaza, with a few other incredible top notch asian restaurants, but it well earned it’s spot. The decor is seductive, atmospheric, and beautifully blends Japanese aesthetic with a modern artful flare. The staff are inviting, warm, and attentive. The attention to detail was superior.. I’ve never been to a Japanese restaurant in Philly region that actually had traditional moritsuke (盛り付け), the place mats and artful placing of the utensils and dishes. The food…. oh my god. The appetizers such as the takoyaki and marble blaze reminded me of places I had eaten in Osaka and Kobe. The cascade umami, though a bit unusual for Japanese cuisine, was worth the performance, and despite texture, the flavor was delicious and addictive. The taste and presentation resembles Nato, traditional Japanese delight of fermented soy beans, but for a Western appetite. The sushi…… The Chef they have must be a master, the sushi/sashimi, the nigiri and rolls, was by far one of the best I’ve ever had. The selection of fish was fresh and well prepared. The Chef is a genius. His rolls combine traditional and contemporary recipes, but with an explosion of new flavors, bold, that somehow balances with every ingredient in each roll. When I try a new sushi spot, I always ask for chef’s choice or sushi sampler. The quality of the fish was superior, and I believe this place knows exactly what it’s doing. They also have favorite Japanese classics, popular amongst western eaters. The hibachi was insane… the flavors, the freshness of ingredients, the fried rice and sauces. It may be one of the best hibachi places in the region, sans a table grill (teppanyaki.) Prices… it’s kinda like expensive affordable. You get the value for what you pay for, without spending hundreds on omakase or Royal. The lunch menu is well priced and has very decent portions, a favorite if you want some quick high quality lunch. While we haven’t had dinner there yet, we WILL be coming back for it, and I highly doubt the experience would be anything less. This place is a 12/10. HIGHLY recommend!!!

New place, very classy looking decor. Sushi pizza, creamy sauce, tuna, non spicy jalapeno, on a crisp scallion pancake. Pairs well with the salad it sits on. Would recommend a try. Eel sushi takosu, very crisp yet substanant seaweed shell. Essentially a rice taco with eel and avocado toppings. A lot of sauce, so the ratio of toppings to rice was still pretty flavorful. Cascade umami, cheesey sweet potato 'warm dish'. Comes very hot, but it was the potato that was steaming, rather than the cheese. Special rolls come as 8 pieces: Tik Tok specialty roll. Has mango sauce, pineapple and creamy avocado. I liked it. Ninja specialty roll, not very spicy. Not super crunchy. Nice sear. Creamy. Blue mountain, blueberry, honey, on a milk shaved ice base. Would prefer if the blueberries were more integrated, either partially blended, chopped or as a compote on top. They give you a lot of blueberries though. Doesn't melt super fast, must be the milkfat. Single room bathroom (one per gender). Quick and attentive wait staff. Seats are very wide in the booths. Well lit table. Free parking lot. Single pokestop.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside- I loved the colors and decor. We hoped the food would match and it absolutely did! Even the plates were beautiful and our sushi was served with a flower on each plate. We had yellowtail, spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, scallop, and the volcano roll. All was so fresh, so delicious. We also had the Dart Vadar dessert which was shaved ice cream with chocolate squares of ice cream and an ice cream bar in the middle. This restaurant is wonderful but we were the only ones there! I hope many people will go and enjoy their delicious sushi 🍣

My parents and I ate here for the first time last night. The restaurant is fairly quiet and the decor is very nice. We were seated at a table and the chairs were comfortable. The atmosphere is definitely catered more towards a date night or adult family meal. I'm not sure if children would have much selection as there's no kids menu. Unless your kids like sushi of course.

The food was spectacular. I'd gotten used to mediocre sushi that seems to be pervasive in this area. We got the sashimi pizza which was a nice balance of textures and flavors. We also got the house salad which was a good portion. My parents and I actually split it.

The sushi itself was very fresh. The rice had a good taste to it. They used ripe mango! I can't count how many places will use hard and sour mango because they don't bother to let it ripen. Our favorite roll was the Tik Tok roll.

For dessert we had the Darth Vader. It's shaved ice that's milk/vanilla flavored. It has chocolate ice cream squares on it and is topped with a Dove ice cream bar. It looks small but it's actually very filling.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. However, we had to ask for water. They don't automatically give that to you and you aren't even asked if you want anything to drink at all. Tables took a long time to get bussed if they were bussed at all. Also, dishes you're finished with aren't taken off the table right away. We also weren't offered clean plates after we had finished our appetizers.

I really hope the restaurant reads these reviews and can improve on the service. I really loved the food and the atmosphere. I can't...
