Dine in has only six tables. We were told that there was a 10-15 minute wait and the two ladies at the table were finished eating. The two ladies just sat there and continued talking for an hour. We were really upset and complained to the owner several times. He said there was nothing he could do and apologized several times. I wanted to go to the table and tell these two ladies how inconsiderate they were, but my wife did not want to make a scene. I just lost my patience and left after an hour of waiting for these two to finish their conversation. I blame the owner in part because he should have gone over to the table and asked the party to continue their conversation outside. They should have signs on the table requesting customers to leave after finishing their meal since seating is limited. Fitness centers limit the equipment to 30 minutes for these same reasons. These two women at the table saw us standing in line for an hour waiting for their table, but continued to talk. They should only choke on their next meal. When we walked out, this young boy who was eating dinner with his mom, came outside and told us they will be finished dinner in five minutes and can have their table. That was very nice and thoughtful of him, but at that point I was done with this place. The owner didn't want to go over to the table to ask the customer to leave, but lost the two of us as customers forever. Their food has always been excellent, but this was just handled very poorly.
I just read the reply from the owner-----Maybe he just should let people sit there and talk for hours while customers stand at the door "Response from the owner an hour ago
Yes we should have kicked them out, what were we thinking to let people enjoy their meal." Really?????-They enjoyed their meal and continued to sit there and gab for over an hour. Tell you what----I'll come back with my wife, finish dinner, and then sit and talk at the table for the next three hours. Is that ok with you while others are waiting at the door to be seated? You came over to us several times to apologize. These two women finished their meal an hour ago and then just kept talking. You think that's ok? You're reply to my post is just beyond words. Anyone waiting an hour for these two woman to get out would feel the same way. How inconsiderate...
Read moreThe places around us try, but leave us underwhelmed. We were coming home from some place about 40 minutes away from home, and were in the area of Shangri La when I did my google search for a Chinese restaurant. I'm so happy we were in the right place at the right time! When I ordered the pork fried rice I was asked if I wanted the soy sauce, and I wasn't sure what they meant. After eating it, we don't want it done any other way! They mix the soy sauce in. So simple but so flavorful! I got an order of the sweet and sour chicken, and the chicken was boxed separately from the rice which made all the difference. It was actually crispy! Again, what a difference, such a simple idea makes. But Shangri La is the only place I know that has ever done this. We tried the General's Chicken which was perfectly crispy even with the sauce on it. If you like it with spicy heat, make sure you let them know to add, since I believe the basic dish is mild/sweet- which I loved. But next time I'd order extra spicy. We also tried the pepper chicken and the cashew chicken and both were great dishes. Even though we're too far away for delivery, and can't use door dash or grub hub, we'll definitely drive the half hour to get to Shangri La! Can't wait to try other dishes. Service was friendly! We ordered by phone and they have curb...
Read morePretty great food and attentive service! Generally, everything we had from the dumplings to the soups to the sushi to our entrees was pretty good! The orange chicken was especially tasty with a rich, tangy flavor. The service was also exceptional, as the wait staff was very attentive and they worked well as a team in making sure we were well accomadated. One complaint we have is that the broccoli in garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic at all, despite big pieces of garlic being in the dish; the cruchiness of the broccoli and the decent enough sauce made up for this though. Also, the dry pot chicken was good, though I've had better at Han Dynasty, which isn't that far away. Lastly, we were seated at one of the two tables between a partition and the sushi bar. This area is surrounded by boxes and supplies, so we felt like we were sitting in a closet. It was easy enough to ignore though. Also, I am assuming this is temporary since I didn't see this in another picture I saw of the restaurant. Overall, I would definitely come back and am curious to try some of their...
