Came here with a friend of mine a few days ago for lunch, and I thought it was great! As other reviews have mentioned, the atmosphere is fantastic, modern, and chic. And the staff are very friendly.
When it comes to the food, as someone who eats kosher style and can't have pork or shellfish or mollusks (among other things), there are plenty of options laid out plainly on the menu which is a great touch. There should also be good options for vegetarians as well, though I'll recheck the menu for that when I come back just to make sure.
I got the chicken shoyu ramen, and my friend got the Katsudon. Both were great! If you get the ramen they allow you to adjust the salt level up or down if you want and choose how firm you want your noodles, which is a nice touch as I like my broth very salty and my noodles al dente.
The only thing that was missing IMO was an option on the menu to adjust spice levels up or down, and I think there wasn't any chili oil at my table (though there is some nice chili powder you can put in that they give you for free, so the complaint is minor). But it's delicious food regardless!
Overall, I would highly recommend giving this place a try, especially given the location right next to an Asian market and a bubble tea place, and is a good option for both...
Read moreI decided to try something from my regular ramen spot today and all it took was walking into to the place to realize I made a mistake, very strong unpleasant odor. I got the spicy miso ramen, it was not spicy, the broth was bland leaning towards bad, the egg was poorly cooked, the noodles were reminiscent of cheap angel hair pasta, the pork was half fat and flavorless, like deli meat, I didn't even finish eating it. Pork bun had the same deli meat, and that was about it, and not on the normal type of bun you would get at a Japanese place it was more like a popeyes biscuit, there was only 1 whereas most places give you 2, it was the best of my 3 orders for what its worth. Takoyaki was alright, very doughy, but the second ball had a strange crunch like bone, so I spit it out and didn't continue eating it. The thai milk tea just tasted like regular iced tea from a packet with milk in it. Order was received 10-15 minutes later than the pickup time although the restaurant was mostly empty. In short, you can get a much higher quality and quantity food for slightly...
Read more1st time to this store under this name. Got the bacon shrimp skewer- solid. Kept it basic and safe with the R1. - very good. Nothing too over the top or flashy about it, just good, tasty, jones-quenching ramen; I appreciate that (and for a decent price by today's standards). Thought I'd get a cold refreshing cold beverage so went the GJT since I love grapefruit and jasmine tea. I'm not one for sweet drinks normally but I thought I'd venture out of my comfort zone... and this was . Lots of GF pulp and not crazy, candy, sugary sweet that makes ya cringe or pucker. Just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth or craving! I sat outside cause the day demanded it. But the inside looked aesthetically thoughtful enough and had the cozy chill ramen restaurant vibe Equally important, I'm thankful for the good, friendly and attentive service this afternoon. Pleasant way to unplug and enjoy a meal from an otherwise long, busy, task-filled day (in my case). Ill make it a plan to return and if I like a place, I'll be spreading...
