1st time to this store under this name. Got the bacon shrimp skewer- solid. Kept it basic and safe with the R1. - very good. Nothing too over the top or flashy about it, just good, tasty, jones-quenching ramen; I appreciate that (and for a decent price by today's standards). Thought I'd get a cold refreshing cold beverage so went the GJT since I love grapefruit and jasmine tea. I'm not one for sweet drinks normally but I thought I'd venture out of my comfort zone... and this was . Lots of GF pulp and not crazy, candy, sugary sweet that makes ya cringe or pucker. Just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth or craving! I sat outside cause the day demanded it. But the inside looked aesthetically thoughtful enough and had the cozy chill ramen restaurant vibe Equally important, I'm thankful for the good, friendly and attentive service this afternoon. Pleasant way to unplug and enjoy a meal from an otherwise long, busy, task-filled day (in my case). Ill make it a plan to return and if I like a place, I'll be spreading the Good word.

This used to be the place of where Kokoro ramen was and that restaurant was excellent in both food and service. Umai ramen still has nice service but the food isn’t the same. The appetizers are plain, the shrimp tempura we ordered was soggy and soft, and the takoyaki was just average. The ramen was a similar experience, less portion in smaller bowls and less toppings and the gyudon bowl was disappointing. The rice was overly soft and the sauce was just off. The old staff and environment was a warm and comforting experience and now it just feels like it’s missing things and isn’t the same. Will look for another place to replace Kokoro ramen.

The food was very good and the service was good as well. I had the vegetable ramen and asked for chili oil because I like it spicy. I was surprised when they charged me a dollar for the chili oil, lol. No one ever does that and I wasn’t warned about the extra charge so I felt a little annoyed. My husband got the seafood ramen, and he liked it. The food is good, but a little too expensive for ramen, I think. Our meals together cost us 40 dollars with tip. The old ramen spot here was cheaper so we were a little disappointed.

I agree with the other reviews that the food is just meh. Chicken Karaage being too crispy and hard with little meat. For ramen, the soup has no depth in flavor - taste bland and fake umami - the noodles didn’t taste fresh either. The pork curtlet batter falling off the meat, meat is too fatty and chewy. BUT the servers are really really nice. One star for food, four stars for service = 2.5 star on average. Rounding up to three. Hope they make more effort in making food better. Until then will not be returning.

I had never ever eaten a gyo don like this. Meat is salty and rice is very hard . How did they get 4.7 stars? I had lived in Japan for over 7 years I know what gyudon should be like. I ordered for picking up because it only takes me 5 mins to be home . I couldn’t understand why the rice was getting hard so quickly . If you had a taste of your food you gonna know what I complained. By the way if you can’t offer the same taste for pick up or delivery orders please let you customers know before they ask for it

Great new shop! Right where the old one used to be in this shopping center. You can choose noodle firmness and salt level in the broth. The chashu pork is thinly cut and the fat is the right texture. Broth is delicious! And not too salty. Finished the whole bowl and don’t feel like I’ve had too much salt. Pork buns are good, too! The buns are a little toasted or fried or something as opposed to just white and fluffy, so the whole thing comes out good and hot! UPDATE: Came back and it’s still great :)
