Jamaica On The Grill — Restaurant in Cherry Valley Township

Went yesterday on their first day and the line was out the door and was told that it was at least a 45 minute wait. I left since I couldn’t wait that long.

Came back today for a to go order and was brought into a room with tables to wait for someone to take my order. I waited about 5 minutes until someone took my order.

I ordered beef patties which were on the menu. “We aren’t making them today”. I ordered chicken with plantains as one of the side dishes which were also on the menu. “We aren’t making plantains today”.

Placed the rest of my order and waited about ten minutes until I overheard the waitress telling another customer that it would be a hour wait for the side dishes to be ready.

This was a hour after they opened. Side dishes should have been prepared before they were open, not when people are waiting for their orders.

Myself and four other people that placed separate to go orders cancelled them and left.

I’ll go back in a few weeks, hopefully after they work the kinks out.

What they had cooking on the grills outside did smell amazing though and the staff was incredibly friendly.

I will edit my star rating once I actually taste the food in a few weeks.

UPDATE 2/10/2020.

Just went back with high hopes and was immediately disappointed. Website says that it opens at 11:00 so I just drove 25 minutes to get here and I arrived at 11:05.

Upon entering, I was told that they don’t open until 11:45.

My star rating changed from a two to a one. I am not wasting any more of my time trying to support this new venture and local business.

I tried, three times now and I wish I could have actually tried the food but the service and respect for my time prevented this.

Good luck, I hope that you guys can get your act together because this area needs more...

Very disappointed. No one addressed us for the first few minutes. Then the Young lady took our order and came back two minutes later with the bill. She instantly charged the card and we ended up waiting two hours for our food, jerk shrimp and salmon. The macaroni was very dry, they ran out of beans and rice and my salmon was barely warm. Yes we were reimbursed but it's the principle of the matter. My birthday dinner was completely ruined. The boss was there and never bothered to come out and address us. No I didn't request him but he knew what was going on. On top of all that I watched every other patron that sat there pay after they ate so I truly felt like it was a race issue. Never again will I grace my presence in that business and won't refer anyone either. I felt so insulted and offer something free doesn't always fix ignorance so no thank you. I still in disbelief four...

This place was unprofessional we order our food at 340pm and was told it will take an hour and 45mins to be done and they will call us when it was ready, that was cook with us, but by 7pm we didnt get a call so we went up the and they to us it will be another 30 mins so we waited by 8pm we was told they didnt have any more oxtails and I asked why wasnt we told that when we ordered and paid for our food in advance they couldn't answer me so i just got my money back and walked out without anything we and it made me so mad because we should have been told as soon as they knew they didn't have it so we could gotta something else, but they waited into they was closing to say anything to us i dont know if I...
