I really don’t know what happened to this place. It used to be a top-notch place about six years ago. For the last few times we have been there, the restaurant is almost empty,. That should have been our first warning sign. When we were seated we were put at the front door while the beer tap repair we’re out front smoking cigarettes right at the door. The smoke was barreling into the restaurant and we simply asked to be moved outback and the lady gave a sarcastic remark “you mean where everybody smoking?” How about you offer us a different table to sit at out of the 20 tables that are open where it supposed to be a smoke free restaurant. Nobody had the courage to go out there and tell the guys to get away from the front door, Instead she was upset that we were going to be moved out of her seating area. Rather than the waitress attempting to resolve it I simply asked for the food to go and had to listen to her go over to the bar and start chatting up about finicky guest. If you’ve ever seen waiting, you get the idea. I then got the lowbrow from the kitchen through the pick up. That should’ve been the second warning sign. When I get to my house and sit down to eat I noticed there was a sour smell coming out of the box. Not just pickles, I’m talking like four or five day past beef. I tried to call and inform the “manager “only to be told no it’s fresh without any further interest to find out what is wrong or what is going on. I asked her if that’s how she’s going to resolve it and she simply hung up the phone. Do not go to this place. Dismissive attitudes, empty seating for a reason, and bad food. I gave it to because I have faith in that restaurant. But hopefully somebody in management will get a better idea of how the hostess and waitresses are treating the guest. This is about the fourth time this is happened and I have not left a review on the previous three. We have been forgotten about for at least a half hour in there before without getting refills and begging for the check to go. Do yourself a favor they have better hamburgers at Wendy’s. Read moreOk. My family and I recently moved to this area. Every weekend since moving to Chesapeake, we have visited a new breakfast location to find a breakfast spot we can visit to regularly. Today, 26 August 2023, we chose Lockside for breakfast and what a regret. From the moment we walked into the restaurant the atmosphere felt humid and stale and the odor of the restaurant equally matched the atmosphere.
We were greeted by a hostess? Who said we would be with you shortly. We waited for seven minutes before another waitress greeted us and took us to a table. Once seated, the floors and table were uncomfortably sticky. We waited for several minutes before anyone employed at the restaurant came to greet us. Once someone approached us, all members of our party had more than enough time to peruse the menu and decide on what we wanted for breakfast but the waitress did not have anything to write with or write on and was only able to take a drink order. The waitress then disappeared for another several minutes before returning with our drinks and then took our order. At this point we were in the restaurant for over twenty minutes. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time but was not very good. My wife and I ordered meals that came with hashbrowns that were undercooked. One member of my party ordered a fruit cup for breakfast. The fruit cup ($4.99 on the menu, I believe) was only strawberries and blueberries and was a rather small portion. The strawberries still had the stems on top. My wife ordered an omelet that had an excessive amount of oil. I ordered the ‘American’ which came with two eggs, a meat, and toast. I elected for egg white’s and bacon. Although only two eggs, the portion for the eggs was very small and the bacon was undercooked.
One member of our party had to use the ladies restroom. The sink was clogged and overflowing. Also, there were no paper towels in the ladies restroom to dry hands after washing. In most states, this is a health code violation.
We will not be visiting this location again. If you choose to go here, scale your expectations...
Read moreDo not be fooled by the atmosphere. This place needs a TON OF WORK!. Manager Kelly was asked too come too our table for an abundance of kitchen mistakes. We ordered the 8oz sirloin steak and eggs medium rare and got shoe leather for our meal. Our daughter ordered banana 🍌pancake 🥞 and got blueberry... We were told over the phone they would hold a booth for us as they did when we got there the location was undesirable. So we moved to the back in the same type of booth near the bathrooms which smells like someone urinated all over the vicinity. As we were sitting there I saw numerous patrons leaving from the outside tables. So I asked could we be placed outside. They told us of their "garage" so I decided to check it out. I was escorted by an amazing new server named Maya. She was the highlight of our experience. She accommodated us outside as she is an indoor server. When the meal was all said and done the manager finally came out after 20 min of waiting. When she came out we gave her our grievances. SHE STATED THE KITCHEN IS SMALL AND THIS IS THE REASON TICKETS CAN BE OVERWHELMING. THAT THERE ARE 4 PEOPLE IN THE KITCHEN AND THEY ARE WORKING WITH A SMALL SPACE SO BASICALLY THE EXCUSE FOR OUR FOOD BEING SCREWED UP. she insisted to blame the servers age that they were 17 and their inability too understand serving as they were new to this location. I was appalled by her body language her inability to manage professionally and the lack of tact. As a manager you must NEVER throw your staff under the bus. Her response too our family should have been polite with Humility and state this is a learning experience for all staff. NO SHE SAID ILL MAKE SURE I LET MY 17 YEAR OLD WAITRESSES KNOW NOT TO SAY THE KITCHEN IS OVERWHELMED.KELLY COMPED THE BILL.WHICH WAS THE LEAST SHE COULD HAVE DONE. ALLOWING THE STAFF TO WEAR WHATEVER THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY BY REVEALING AND DEGRADING WOMEN SHOWS THAT THEY LACK GOOD CULINARY SKILL AND NEED HALF NAKED WOMEN TO SERVE TO PULL IN A CROWD.
