What a hidden and unassuming gem! My partner is a pizza fanatic and heard about this place from some co-workers. We're on the other side of the water, but dang, do I wish we lived closer after having tried out this pizzeria!
TLDR: Try this place. You won't be disappointed.
Food: The portion sizes were good, the crust was soft, the salad was chock full of goodies, and the amount of cheese is awesome (I regret not taking a picture of the cheese pull, it was unreal!). They have both some Pepsi and Coke products.
Ambiance: The dining area that has 3 tables was clean and inviting. In fact, the owner was seated right next to us enjoying a pizza as well! We had a nice little chat, and he left us to devour our food. The girl at the register was pretty helpful and even brought all of our food over to us as it was ready which was super nice.
Price: Very reasonable prices. We always go overboard with what we order, and we still only spent about $75 for the both of us. We got 2 medium pizzas, a salad, wings, and cheesy bread (which was the size of a medium pizza). Note: There is no military discount.
Parking lot: Inside of a strip mall sort of area, it shares with the other shops in the area, but you should have no issues finding a spot!
Overall, I'm super pleased with the options, pricing, and quality of this pizzeria and look forward to going back! I think I'll get one of their shirts with their cute logo on it to help them out...
Read moreAs someone who has lived in Chesapeake, VA all my life, it’s always refreshing to see local eateries thriving—especially in the Great Bridge/Hickory area where chain restaurants tend to dominate. Tonight, I tried Great Bridge Pizza for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed.
From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff. The restaurant had a neat and modern vibe, featuring a convenient self-checkout-style ordering kiosk. For those who prefer the personal touch, a friendly cashier was also available to help with ordering.
What really stood out was how fresh everything felt. All pizzas are made to order, and my wait time was about 17 minutes—totally reasonable. I went with the barbecue chicken pizza, and let me tell you—it was delicious! The flavor was spot on, and the crust had the perfect bite.
I noticed a negative review earlier from someone claiming to be from New York and criticizing the pizza. Let’s be real—this is Chesapeake, not New York. Great Bridge Pizza never advertised itself as New York-style, and it doesn’t need to. It’s a quality, local pizza spot that delivers great taste and great service. Definitely a solid choice for any occasion. I’ll...
Read moreWhen I noticed a new pizza restaurant was going into Battlefield Shopping Center in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake I was intrigued. I found their Facebook page and began to follow their journey. Great Bridge Pizza is located between Buckets Bar and Grill and Sunrise Breakfast Shoppe. I believe Buckets and GBP share the same ownership.
They've only been open less than a week but have already proven themselves a great asset to the Chesapeake pizza scene. I got my first order from them today. Ordering online was quick and easy and my order was ready when I arrived to pick it up. The large (14 inch) pizza was fabulous. The crust was superb and baked just right. I really enjoyed the sauce as well. The fresh toppings (pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers) were abundant and the whole pie was a medley of delicious flavors and textures. The chicken wings were fresh and hot and oh so enjoyable. They were just slightly crunchy and very flavorful.
I wish Great Bridge Pizza much success. They are off to a great start. The location is very convenient for me and the staff is friendly and inviting so I am sure I will be back in the...
