Wendy's — Restaurant in Chesapeake

In over 35 years of eating at Wendy's, this location has to be the absolute worst. I gave them many tries, but things just keep getting worse. These problems have been going on since they opened and I can only assume it's due to poor management. You may like this location if: (1) You like dried out, hockey puck beef patties reheated in the microwave (2) You like chicken that's been sitting out too long and they actually reheat it by refrying in the deep fryer -- no joke, I watched them do this (3) You like room temp buns that haven't even taken a walk past a steamer/heater (4) You like lukewarm fries swimming in grease even when they first start serving lunch -- how do they manage that? (5) You like salads that are apparently way past the sell date and the lettuce is wilted (5) You like chalky iced tea that should have been thrown out a day or two before. There are other options for fast food in the area of this location and I strongly suggest you choose...

Nobody was at the drive-thru and waited five minutes after they finally told us to hold on. Then after a few more minutes of waiting, I asked if it was faster for us to come inside and they said yes. Went inside and there was one customer (total) and two people behind the counter. One older gentleman doing all the work while a younger guy sat there looking at his phone trying to hide, while complaining loudly that he was going to leave. The alarm from the fry oil was blaring and the smoke was filling the air. When the older gentleman finally was able to get to us, his hands were shaking. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing from this young person, totally leaving his much older coworker on his own to make everything while he sat there hiding, looking at his phone. The food was burnt and fries were extremely overcooked… obviously. We will never go back to this location at night and suggest others...

Update: 7/29/18 A friend picked up a meal for me from this location on their way home and while I didn't know it was this location initially, I knew as soon as I got the food. Undercooked fries, employees don't know what part of the lettuce is edible, and they left the paper on my slice of cheese and I ate half before realizing it. I hope the taco Bell they just put in puts this location out of business.

This Wendy's has the worst customer service out of any fast food I've ever been to. Was in the drive thru and while asking a question a random employee (different from the one I was speaking too) slammed the window in my face. This was my first time back in years as my family also experienced an issue a couple years ago where an employee came out from behind the counter and started insulting my mother about her age.
