I found this place on a whim, as my mother and I were on our way to the local farm for the day. As soon as we were about to pass it, I said "mom! It's so pretty, I have to go inside when we're coming back." I'm so glad I did! You can tell it's a neighborhood spot as the locals were inside, chit chatting with either the owner or manager. The outside, of course, is what attracted me and it was so pretty! If we would've had time (and found food parking) I would've enjoyed my purchase outside in their seating area. I had ordered their walnut Blondie and the coconut lavender latte with oat milk. The Blondie was fave and the latte was tasty! It's hard to find anything with lavender so it was a good treat to have. Their walls are lined with Italian cooking foods such as uncooked pastas and sauces. They also have other baked goods and sandwiches to go in their refrigerator. I'm from Manhattan, New York so it was a pleasant trip here, thank you for having me! I definitely suggest if you're in the area for a...
Read moreWe‘ve been going to Maria’s for years on our way to the bi-annual craft fair in Chester. It was a ritual for me and my elderly mom until our last visit when Maria herself ask me and my 78 year old mother to get up and move from our table to make way for a young couple with kids who wanted to “eat“. Um.. we were actually still eating too!!! It was so bizarre and the young mom who was taking our table was so mortified I actually felt worse for her than us! Maria has never had the best “bedside manner“ but it was the only joint in town, but after this, sorry Maria, you hit an all time low and we will go elsewhere as well as all our family and friends who frequented your shop. Beware patrons, I’ve read other similar reviews. it’s really such a shame, especially when we re trying so hard to support...
Read moreMy husband and I would visit Maria’s whenever we would visit Chester. Unfortunately, I was yelled at by the owner immediately upon entering for having a stroller with my 4 month old. I was barely a foot inside and she yelled from the counter to leave and I can’t have a stroller inside.
She didn’t even give me a second to explain that I was going to stand in the back and choose a drink. My husband was already standing online to order for me. I’m very well aware of my surroundings and would never try to bring a stroller into an establishment that was crowded or lacking space.
If you don’t welcome strollers that’s fine, but a visable sign should be posted at the door. Very poor business to yell at a new mother in front of customers. Sadly, we won’t...
