We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. Very glad that we did. The food was great and the service was also excellent. Family run business - owners of New York Pizza. Our waitress was the owners niece and another waitress was owners wife. Busboy was also great and kept refilling our water and bread. We had the Eggplant Rollatini for an appetizer and Chicken Marsala and Sea Bass for Entrees. The entrees were great, the Eggplant was average and would not get that one again. We had Tiramisu as dessert and that was the one real low point of the dinner. It was served frozen in a little plastic container. When you are trying to come across as an upscale restaurant, I would serve the dessert in a glass serving dish/bowl. Two other points to mention - the restaurant is directly next door to the pizza place which gets VERY loud and there are people walking by the door to the restaurant. We had asked our waitress to please close the glass entrance doors to the restaurant as it was very noisy from the pizza place plus people walking by the restaurant entrance to get to the pizza place sort of took away from the ambiance of the restaurant. It was also VERY cold in the restaurant and half of the people were eating with their coats on. We heard comments from people at our adjoining tables also complaining about how cold it was. Our waitress, who as mentioned was great kept closing the doors butt the owners wife felt the need to keep opening it?? So, please close the doors and put the heat on...Last suggestion - the tables of two along the windows look out on a walkway where people are constantly walking by. I would suggest putting up shades or something along there so that people walking by and the owners families kids playing out there are not looking in on the people eating. Other than these couple minor items, we would definitely return to eat ere again as the people working there are great and the food...
Read moreMonte Casa is the more formal side of New York Pizza, where they don't serve pizza and have a slightly more limited menu. That helps to keep the atmosphere nicer for an adult night out. The nightly specials are always great, especially when the Braciole Pomodoro is on the menu. For the regular menu, you have to start with the fried calamari, burrata caprese and /or eggplant rollatini appetizers as they are all top notch. The chicken Monte Casa and chicken margherita are our favorite chicken dishes, and for seafood, the Monte Casa Branzino and Zuppa di Pesce are excellent. The owner and his entire family are there every day, running the place, so if there's ever a problem, you can speak to a family member and they'll make it right. We highly recommend giving Monte Casa a try if you're...
