1 star review for predatory and unethical business practices. I haven't even touched my food yet. There is a 10% additional charge for carryout orders. You don't find this out until you get the bill after the food is already being made. It isn't on the menu anywhere and I wasn't told about it when I asked if carryout orders were an option. I had to ask the waitress about it after signing my receipt.
This does not go to the waitress as a tip as I inquired about that specifically. The extra charge goes to the business for... reasons? I'm sorry, do you need to increase the price of all your menu items by a tenth to pay for boxes and bags? If a dine in customer asks for a box, is their bill also increased by 10%?
Absolutely ridiculous. Its not even about the money its the outright hidden nature of the actual price of the food.
The menu price was a 14 dollar burger. My actual bill was just under 20 after I tipped a dollar.
Edit Response to owner:
You need to include this information on your menu. For instance, you include the auto-gratuity of parties of 8 or more. The point is that you only find out this information after the order has been placed. Customers need to be able to make informed purchase decisions with prices upfront - not hidden. Especially in the post-covid inflation market you mention.
If I had known upfront it was going to be closer to a 20 dollar burger instead of 15 and some change, I wouldn't...
Read moreWe took a small group of friends out to eat last night and literally had some of the worst service. I had worked at a restaurant/distillery for 3-4 years, I get how chaotic & busy you all can become. I understand it was also trivia night. However, when we strolled in at 7pm, were sat immediately and had to wait 20 minutes for drinks and another 20 to put a food order in.. things didn't add up. The kitchen might have been busy I know because of the influx of people for trivia, but it still shouldn't have taken another 30 minutes to get appetizers. Now they were half decent, yet it might have been because we were so hungry & sick of waiting. We never had ONE true SERVER. It was always two different girls. I would have at least liked a little heads up/apology for the wait, but there never was one. In fact she was short & sweet to the point & walked away super fast. The mistake was asking for another round of drinks & it took another 15 minutes till we saw her and had to remind her. At this point it became a joke to us & when she delivered our food we asked for a dozen things because we knew we wouldn't see her again. In the end, the food wasn't up to par. Kinda let me down because we talked about cheap beer and damn good food to the guys... I can't say we even had cheap beer that's worth...
Read moreI took my girlfriend out for the first time a few weeks after her birthday with all our friends. They use a cheap app rather than a federal scanner to scan our ids and it showed hers as invalid and they tried telling her she wasn’t 21. I told them have the police validate it then, so they brought out the bald manager (the one that you could see the reflection on his head) and he tried to tell me that the DMV gave her a “bad ID” (not a thing.) I told him it scanned literally everywhere else that uses a real scanner and I think he got offended so he patted me on the back and sarcastically said “this guy knows everything about dmv’s”. If it were up to me we would’ve bounced and went somewhere that uses a real scanner rather than an invalid app; however, our friends were all there by then and my girlfriend was not allowed to drink. Meanwhile that bald manager was staring at us the whole time. Although its unfortunate my girlfriend had to have this experience at her first bar, this is solely constructive criticism and I hope the management can look into investing into a federal scanner in the near future. The dollar beers on Wednesdays are their saving grace, but otherwise don’t waste your time here. Murphy’s, right up the road, is cheaper and uses federal...
