Classic Red Hots is an absolute gem; if you’ve never been, you’re missing out on one of St. Louis’ best Mediterranean spots. It’s small and out of the way (so plan accordingly if you bring a larger group!), but absolutely worth your time over some of the often-raved Mediterranean places in the Lou. With dishes like Kabsa, shawarma, and the tasty mansaf, you have so many options to try! (Pro tip- get the lamb kabsa or mansaf. You’ll never want to eat lamb anywhere else.)
With a fully halal menu of delicious foods (like gyro, hamburgers, kabobs, PROPER chicago-style hotdogs, and more!), the owners are wonderful people who treat customers like family.
You’ll never leave CRH hungry; the portions of food are incredible and the homemade taste just simply can’t be beat. Be prepared to have patience - everything is made as you order by the owners, but even if there’s a line, it’s 1000% worth the time to wait.
Everything about this restaurant is amazing; the food, the flavor, the owners, the care and dedication they put into their business, and the consistency of their craft.
Put it on your list and plan to go more than once - you...
Read moreThis little spot is a hidden gem run by a very kind couple with incredible work ethic. I have over several occasions seen them working tirelessly to prepare the meals from scratch and you can taste the difference in their food.
This is as close as it gets to eating real middle eastern food in this area. Everything we have tried here was delicious. My favorite middle eastern dishes from this spot are their mixed grill platter, fatoush salad, and their gyro salad - which are all exceptional. The meat is juicy and cooked to perfection which the burst of flavors in the salad makes the combo satisfying.
If you’re not a huge fan of middle eastern food but you like to try unique American food/treats, then this spot is also the place to be. From Chicago style hot dogs, Philly cheese steaks to deep fried Twinkie’s - there is literally something here to make...
Read moreWhat a fantastic family run shop! You really couldn’t find a more kind and helpful staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was a first timer and obviously the gyro is the go to here apparently. And it didn’t disappoint. I found the meat version to be very flavorful and the pita bread soft and fresh. I am also told their Italian beef is pretty damn good too. All in all the experience was pleasant. The restaurant itself is not the largest for dining in but they do offer places to sit inside and a table outside. Could use some updating but really your gear for a to go order more...
