I came upon this place one day driving west. The gas was cheap and the air for the tires was free. A small thing, but it stayed with me. I told myself next time I passed this way I’d stop again. A man remembers kindness when the road is long.
So today I did. Went out of my way to do it. Thought I’d try their food. The place had many offerings. The coffee was priced fair. I ordered the gobbler sandwich ($8). Then the waiting began. Twenty minutes for something simple. I watched the clock and felt the slow boil of regret.
When it came, the worker apologized. Polite enough. But they knew they were behind. They should have told me. The sandwich itself was weird. The bread was fresh and chewy, but the gravy mixed with cranberry sauce tasted like two holidays that refused to get along.
By the time i returned to the car, it had turned into a small furnace. My teenage kids sat inside glaring at me as if I had left them there for a season. I went from hero to zero in their eyes all during one lunch break.
All the workers were moving fast. They were not idle. I don’t know why it took 20 mins tk get bacisic sandwich. Maybe that’s how it goes, some places just lose their rhythm. I won’t stop here again. The road is wide. There are...
Read moreFirst of all. I understand that this store just opened and issues are going to occur.
With that said, management should actually care when issues occur. We went in on Sunday and got sandwiches and they were so good we decided to try curbside.
We ordered two sandwiches and two frozen drinks. They brought out the sandwiches but no drinks- they said they were still being made.
We waited 10 minutes and went inside. There were no drinks being made. When we asked about them no one seemed to care. We had to wait inside another 20 minutes where we were put at the end of the line. By the time we got out the food was cold and inedible. A refund request was refused and the only thing they said was “we just opened. It’s hectic”
I get that. I also completely understand having to wait because of lines. But even when hectic you at least apologize and try to make it right. None of that was done here.
So TL:DR. The food is good but it’s not worth having to deal with zero customer...
Read moreIf you’re excited to try the first Wawa in Indiana don’t waste your time. While it was later in the evening, we ordered one single burger, two medium fries and a club sandwich at 9:48 and waited almost 40 minutes for it. We watched our food sit on the counter for 20+ minutes while we waited for fries. There was at LEAST 6 employees in the back, half of them walking around doing visibly nothing and a gentlemen, who I assume to be a manager, more concerned about making his two pizzas to take home for the evening than helping his employees turn out food in a decent time. They did give us a free, extra burger and a drink but that doesn’t make it any more enjoyable to eat my food at nearly 11 pm or fun to watch multiple people get their food before us while we stood, waited and ate over half of our order cold when we got home. Not interested in dealing with that again, and seems I should have read the numerous other negative reviews before putting ourselves...
