El Carreton Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Daleville

Place is super clean, with lovely decor, and great staff.

The food was mostly great. I kept tasting something in the salsa that I can't put my finger on - maybe parsley? It threw me off enough to mention.

The menu consisted of the base meals typically found at these restaurants, though I couldn't help but notice a few missing. Smaller menu isn't necessarily a bad thing though.

Plates are huge with food spread thin. But we did get filled up! Rice was fantastic. Best I've had at any Mexican restaurant.

The fried ice cream was... Eh... They didn't have the volcano cake that I originally wanted but fried ice cream is a great treat too.

This time it wasn't.. the ice cream was hard, the outer shell chewy and the bowl, while crunchy, just tasted stale.

I was very much underwhelmed by my experience.

Definitely give this place a try. You may love it...

You will not find a more plentiful and tastier Mexican restaurant in Daleville or the surrounding areas. Muncie and Anderson have a few options that could give it a run for the money but living in Muncie I would state, "it's still worth the drive for the taste and quantity." The menu options are fairly standard fair comparing easily to Puerto Vallarta and El Ranch Poblano (if you're from the Muncie / Yorktown regions). My wife and I pass this place on a daily basis as it close to where we live. We have been wanting to stop in a try it, so we did today. We were not disappointed! I ordered the Burrito El Jefe by recommendation from the server and my wife got the taco salad. My burrito was absolutely delicious. My wife’s taco salad was really good. We have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and this one instantly became my favorite. Service was amazing, the food was cooked perfectly, and all the staff was very friendly.
