Val's Custom Cakes — Restaurant in Chesterton

I was interested in using Val's bakery for my daughter's upcoming wedding. I went in and already had our options selected. I gave the lady our order. She stated i would need to speak to Val about the details and she would give her the information. The nice lady did that because i received a text message from Val a couple of days later. She wanted to know when would be a good time and we agreed to speak the next day. The next day, the appointment time passed with no word from Val, so I reached out to her by text. A few hours later she responded stating her phone needed to be charged but she would give me a call in a couple of hours. I did not hear back from her the rest of that day. The following day, I sent her a text, in case i might have missed a call or text from her. (I knew I hadn't, because this is an important event for us, so I was by my phone the whole day).I reached out asking if today would be a good day to discuss the details. THIS TIME, THERE WAS NO RESPONSE AT ALL!!! SuchTerrible customer service to just ignore a new potential customer! Maybe they thought my request was too small, but some sort of follow up would have been nice. 2 opportunities missed to speak to me. It's been over 2 weeks and I still have not heard back. Absolute crickets from Val!! Terrible, terrible service!! Only gave 1 star because the lady in the store was kind and did forward our information, if not.......

Thank you, Val! The cake really was amazing. I can’t tell you how many people honestly asked us where we got our cake? We had people like it so well that they grabbed multiple cupcakes to eat while they were there and also some grabbed a few to take with them. It was so good! We truly are happy that we chose you to make our wedding cake. Taste of the cake was most important to me. You were the second place that we tried. For our wedding, we chose Val's for dessert options. They were extremely accommodating, friendly, and were the best value we could find in the area. The cupcakes were not only visually appealing, they were delicious as well. And the small wedding cake we also ordered was phenomenal. Everything about our experience with this little bakery was above and beyond what we expected. From the multiple flavor options, to the friendly staff, to the overall presentation of our order, we were incredibly satisfied. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family, and we will definitely be using them again for...
