BAD Alfred's Distilling — Restaurant in Chestertown

It was our first time trying out this place since moving to our new home. Our waitress (I forget her name) she was really kind and sweet. I could tell she really cared and was attentive to us. The stars here really go to her.

We ordered 1 appetizer - crab dip which was good. And 1 pizza to share. The pizza sadly did taste like a pizza that would come from a frozen package.

Then we all ordered burgers and 1 Crabcake. 2 of the burgers came out at same time, while waiting still for a burger and Crabcake. The other burger than came out 10 mins later, and still no Crabcake. It took the kitchen a whole additional 20-30 mins to bring out a Crabcake. I could tell our server was embarrassed and felt bad, she offered us a 10% discount which we gladly accepted. The whole time I was almost watching the kitchen cause my thought was “okay it’s not her fault it’s kitchen is behind”. One of the chefs was just walking around smoking a vape in the kitchen while cooking food. The staff were super sorry, which again I have respect, some things are out of their control. It’s clear the kitchen may be the cause for some issues.

In the end, I was happy to give our waitress 20% because she was sweet and again not her fault, but the food quality alone and the lack of effort from the kitchen, I think it’s safe to say that I will not be returning. If you want something just quick and don’t mind the taste as much -...

We stopped in for a quick drink due to the name "brewpub & distillery" and man were we disappointed... Firstly the place was empty when we walked in and after 5 minutes of stand next to the "please wait to be seated sign" and making eye contact with multiple staff members a woman finally came over and asked "oh did you want a table?". After being seated we checkout out the menus and they had FOUR beers on tap...now if you have brewpub in your name I'd expect a little more. After seeing that I looked at the mixed cocktails list. And don't you know only 1 drink actually used there distilled liquor. My boyfriend asked the waitress if they made bourbon she said she'd have to check cause they really don't have any of there stuff anymore after having to cut back. Instead of letting him know they didn't have that in stock she then just made the drink with random whiskey and said here yah go. Not giving the option of anything else that may have been there. Bad alfreds is one of my new favorites! First off, the menu is fairly small but the items in the menu are all soooo good! I want to tell the world to about this place.

Second, I have a 2.5 year old baby. Each time I’ve went in; it’s been later in the evening so everyone with children knows how that could be sometimes. Each time, I’m assuming the gentleman that im about to talk about is the owner… but each time this man has done nothing but take his time and come over to us to interact with my baby. He has done everything to cater to us. He made sure on the busy nights, he brought the baby’s chicken out within 5 minutes of ordering so she could eat, ice cream after eating a whole slice of pizza as a reward…and I would like to note my kid is kind of a picky eater, she ate everything there. This lively nice gentleman really made me and my family feel welcomed and the service was wonderful and food was a 12/10. I love this place and definitely recommend everyone to go and try.
