Phat Daddy's — Restaurant in Chestertown

I read the reviews and I’d like to go where THEY went for lunch, because that’s not the Phat Daddy’s we encountered. No brisket. No pit beef. Ok, we’ll have the pit turkey. What comes on it? Young lady didn’t know. Had to go ask. BBQ sauce. (Ours didn’t come w BBQ sauce.). We ordered and texted our friends that we’d be over shortly w the carry-out. Forty five minutes later, I pointed out how long it had been. The lady behind the counter got my order number to argue w me that it had only been 34 minutes. Why 11 minutes between my ordering and them putting the order in? We had already paid. Yes, she said, it takes that long when they’re busy. Who’s busy? Looked around: coupla folks sitting at tables waiting longer than us for food. No line waiting for carry out. Ultimately, it was an hour wait. This place is a mess. Chaotic. Unorganized. Plenty of attitude. If they’ve figured out how to cook BBQ they should hire someone to show them how to run a restaurant. The food was ok but not good enough to compensate for their disorganization. hi, our first visit before the formal opening showed us the food was great; the cracklins were a nice touch to munch on while we waited for the meal. I asked phat daddy about recyclable utensils and boxes; phat daddy really listened and now I can go in and ask for them; this is wonderful service. some great smoked meat will now be a regular at our house. :)

hi, we called in for dinner yesterday -- whole chicken and brisket platter with greens and beans. the chicken, brisket, and bakes beans were delicious; the greens were a bit too salty for our taste. my partner talked about how good the brisket was over our AM coffee.

the meal was ready when I arrived and, as requested when I called in the order, the chicken and brisket meals came in compostable boxes - a huge plus for us, since we hate single-use plastics.

I highly recommend phat daddy's and don't forget to request non-plastic boxes if...

Me shipmate and I shared the sampler platter, ate a lot, and still had enough for the next day's lunch.

Everything was delicious! The ribs were tender and flavorful with plenty of meat, the sausage had excellent flavor, the pulled pork was exceptionally perfect, as was the chicken. The brisket was tender and tasty. The sides of coleslaw, mac and cheese, and cornbread were great, too. We should have got more hush puppies, though. They are 👍👍
