Stam's Luncheonette — Restaurant in Chestertown

My friend and I stopped in this past Thursday. We got there at 3:25. When we walked in there was a mom and her 2 girls at the counter and 1 other girl sitting at a table near the front window and a woman in a back room on her computer. There was an employee in the kitchen and 2 employees behind the counter. 1 of them gave us a dirty look as she proceeded to walk by us to a freezer to do inventory. TOTALLY IGNORED US. The other girl behind the counter was apparently doing her side work as well. AGAIN TOTALLY IGNORING US. After approximately 7 minutes of sitting at the counter being ignored, I asked the girl behind the counter if they were closed. She said we close at 4, that was it. Mo more conversation not asking for our order. They were both clearly annoyed that they may have to stay alllll the way to 4. The other one doing inventory was acting so flustered and busy. There were about 20 things for her inventory, I'm sure it was exhausting. Needless to say, we got up and left. What a great place, the kids enjoyed their ice cream, however, the owner appeared to be extremely annoying at the fact that she had to serve us and answer questions about me, adding malt to a milkshake. The employees of compensated by saying thank you, but the owner clearly lacks the ability to communicate and have a friendly smile on our face. We visited this for the Friday night Events held by the town in Chestertown. To be a customer and not feel appreciated by the owner truly made me feel that this place was not worth a second visit. I’m sure the owner does a great job, I’m sure she continues to make a wonderful product, but clearly she should stay in the back room, making the ice cream, and not being out annoyed with the fact that customers were coming into her establishment. Just visited Stam’s Luncheonette and had a disappointing experience. The staff seemed annoyed from the start and were noticeably sassy while taking our order. When our food was brought out, they rolled their eyes every time someone in our group said the order was theirs or asked for a condiment. The attitude made the whole experience uncomfortable.
