Benchmark — Restaurant in Chicago

We came to Chicago and wanted to find a cool place to do a Sunday Brunch. Food was pretty good, the DJ put different genres of music to cater to everyone, the place is really pretty. Thats the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars. I wish I didn’t have to, since i’m not one to usually leave reviews, but after what i experienced, something has to be done. We stayed around the bar area after brunch and were buying rounds of shots. I went to the bathroom, which is a long walk, and going down a super long flight of stairs wasn’t fun after a few rounds, but i managed to do it. After I got back, a worker came up to me and said i have to leave for being too drunk? i literally had walked down the whole flight of stairs and back up by myself. He said i had 3 minutes to finish my fries. I thought it was super unfair, but thats fine, they didnt want to risk it, i get it. I was grabbing the two shots that were left and giving them to my friends, who weren’t kicked out. That’s when the “bartender” (blonde girl) literally yanked them out of my hand and started SCREAMING at me that i was too drunk. I told her i wasn’t going to drink them, to please repour and give it to my friends because i did pay for them. She kept screaming for me to leave. The “other bartender” with the glasses backed her up, saying he saw me slam into the wall. I honestly was shocked. If i managed to go down the stairs, i know i was fine. Whatever, i was already over the place. I picked up my water cup to drink and was planning on finishing my fries. Thats when this aggressive woman (blonde girl again) SNATCHED my water cup and then went for my fries. i literally had to pull the fries out of her hands. Hello?! If you think i’m too drunk why would you not let me hydrate myself and finish my food?! I will admit that I was tipsy, that was the whole point of doing brunch, especially in Chicago. I literally have a SCRATCH MARK ON MY HAND from how hard this woman snatched my cup. I told her that it was water and that i needed water, and she said GET OUT!!! I get it, not everyone is having a good day all the time. But wow, talk about being miserable. One of the other bartenders managed to help me out and gave me water. Much respect to him. But honestly, it was really sad to experience something like this. To summarize: Come if you want a good brunch experience, just DON’T stay after, especially...

I’d like to not continue to waste my time on this venue but unfortunately I have no choice. On Sunday March 5th 2023 we placed a reservation for this establishment and prepaid our reservation per policy to hold our spot. Not only did we receive the worst service in Old Town by worst I mean server rolled her eyes at us when we asked for water. Which might I add I never received. We had a simple order one alcoholic beverage NO appetizers just eggs and toast. Unfortunately, the food was COLD! We did not receive any further beverage options no salt, no pepper no napkins! It was early in the day so tables were empty. I am empathetic with the potential lack of staff but to not acknowledge your cliental nor give me an option to refill my own beverage or get my own napkins and still expect a 20% tip is absurd. The manager emailed us but he won’t answer my calls and why I need to call him is because remember. I said I needed to prepay my reservation? Well they never took my deposit OFF my tab! So therefore I was now over charged. So I would so kindly appreciate a call back. I left a voicemail with my contact number.
