Best library in Chicago....hands down. While other branches definitely have equal merit, this branch specifically tries to cater to anyone who shows any interest in any subject...to the best of their funding and abilities, of course. Mr. Bowen, the manager, runs a tight ship and is always up for recommendations, as well as criticism, be it positive or negative. Marcus and the other librarians really do try and accommodate everyone, and it definitely feels that way when you need their help. I couldn't ask for a better place to read, gather information, or just to be able to gather my thoughts. I donhope they are able to aquire more finding so that they can really set up the workshops that will help the surrounding community as a whole. This place not only is here for you to embrace all forms of media, but to learn valuable life skills as well. At least twice a month there is someone (certified in their field of expertise) here holding court and helping people with computer skills, giving info on starting a business, helping women become responsible gun carriers for self defense purposes, and so on. Chicago needs more places like this, and they also need more people like the ones that run this establishment. I can't thank them all enough for being here. I only wish that the City of Chicago would pay more attention and give these people the funding they really need.
From the security guard, to the librarians, to the manager.....each always has a smile on their face when you walk in the door, and as you leave. Thank you, Chicago Bee Branch. You definitely have helped me accomplish many things during my time I have spent there. I can not express my...
