No Vacancy — Restaurant in Chicago

Showed up for brunch at opening time (11am Sunday). Wait staff were milling outside, door was locked. At 11:20am someone shows up and apologizes to the staff for being late, and they all go inside without acknowledging the 6 people waiting on the sidewalk. We wait 15 mins then try the door again, still locked even though the staff are inside and can see us. Wander off to get coffee, come back, more people are waiting outside and no one knows what's happening. At 12pm, a serious looking older guy shows up with keys and goes inside wordlessly, leaving the door unlocked. A customer tries to enter and is told they don't open until 1230pm (not true). We try other brunch options nearby and they all have a 90 minute wait by this point so we decide to wait another 30 minutes. At 1230pm someone tries going in again and is told it'll be another hour, then the next customer is told 20 minutes. Eventually we gave up and had awful pub food nearby because we were ready to eat anything. Zero communication from the restaurant staff throughout our miserable 90 minute...

Our late-night dinner at No Vacancy Chicago was nothing short of exceptional! The NV Burger with an egg was an absolute standout—cooked to a perfect medium, with the patty juicy and flavorful, and the egg adding a rich, indulgent touch. Every bite was a delightful mix of savory goodness that truly satisfied. The curly fries were insanely good—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and seriously addictive. We loved them so much that we couldn't help but order a second basket at 11 PM—hands down, some of the best fries I've ever had in Chicago.

The grilled chicken was equally impressive—tender, moist, and packed with a deliciously smoky flavor. But what truly made the night memorable was Kostas, the bartender. He was an absolute sweetheart—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great experience. His warm hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel right at home.

No Vacancy truly delivers on quality food, great vibes, and top-notch service. We can’t wait to come...

I have dined on NV’s patio before and enjoyed the food. But this time around I called in the place a takeout order. I know to expect a higher quality of bar food from here and have yet to be let down by their quality and execution.

Extremely happy with the service I received over the phone. The woman (her name started with an A) was extremely patient, kind and helpful in aiding me with making a food choice. I asked several questions and she was never pushy or annoyed with them. I’d come back just for the service I received from her over the phone, and I believe she was also the only waitress on staff.

Bartenders were friendly and attentive when I went in to pickup. Overall, really great and will be back soon. Service matters and this experience will definitely convince me to continue...
