Updating my review now that our stay in complete! We stayed for a few days and had booked multiple rooms post-wedding with a few friends. The location is perfect, the decor is unique, and the coffee (Mason) place inside is delicious (they even have oat milk!). I love that you can easily text the front desk. However, I strongly recommend reading about the hotel and looking at pictures before you book if you consider staying here. If you plan to spend most of your stay your hotel room and/or you're claustrophobic, this is likely not the best choice for you. I would personally be unlikely to stay here again due to my claustrophobia but I would recommend it to anyone who just needs a place to sleep or wants the private room with a hostel feel.
While it's awesome that they have a "game room" open for guests, it is a shared space and can be very awkward if others are around with your party (our issue was trying to play a game while they ate and watched TV, though the other party was super nice!). The bar/restaurant attached is also very loud at night, at least on weekends, from the game room. You cannot be anywhere in the room, or elevator for that matter, without hearing the blasted music and chatter (not a huge deal but noteworthy).
The shared kitchen was neat but we really hadn't used it much other than water/napkins. The fridge is fair game for everyone, you just have to label your own stuff and hope people have manners. I don't see myself ever using this but it may be ideal for one-time party night "let us cook for ourselves" deal, I suppose.
As most reviews state... The rooms are very basic and small. Don't expect a good view. Two of our rooms had views of other rooms, including windows from the bathroom (we decided to just keep the shade drawn, ha). No closet or frills, just bed with built-in nightstands/lamps, built-in safe, small desk and chair, bathroom with stand-up shower, sink, and toilet. There are some hooks on the wall for clothing (one room had these in the bathroom). The difference in room sizing was a little intriguing... With multiple parties/rooms, they put all of our rooms on the same floor, which was nice. However, they each had varying sizes from tiny to small, only one had real breathing room. These rooms strongly reminded us of dorms.
Overall, the hotel seemed very clean. The rooms weren't perfect (I could nitpick if I cared enough), but we also didn't pay a ton for them. The bathroom downstairs, lobby, and game room were clean, game room just had an air of dust but I think that just comes with that atmosphere.
The staff, aside from one person I spoke to on the phone initially, were all awesome and welcoming. I love the eclectic feel of this hotel and the way the employees seem to appreciate it.
I have to include the housekeeping sign in my review just because I liked it... The sign you hang on the door is simple and just reads "YES" or "NO" respectively, pending the side you hang.
Found Hotel is a unique little gem in the city and I hope it thrives as it continues...
Read more(Great location, okay customer service, cleanliness 1/10) My Fiancé and I flew to Chicago from clearly out of town. We have been excited for this trip for months but I had not noticed one thing on the reservation and that was the check in time (4pm) mind you I take full responsibility for the mistake on my side for booking as our flight came in at 7am. (Arrival at facility around 8:45)After my Fiancé and I utilized the baggage storage, which was amazing and a life saver. We did look for a front desk person and sat there for a minute but there was no one……but our luggage was safe and we figured we could come back and ask if they had an earlier check in. So, we took off and started walking around the city. At about 1:26pm, we came back to the hotel to see if they have an earlier check in, because you would want to shower and sit down and get settled in. As we walked in there was a lady at the front desk who greeted us and we walked up to the first podium and was greeted with a hello, I had continued to ask for the early check in and got a response of “did you check the app?” I had not, after that she looked up our reservation and looked at the out time of another and she said that there was someone occupying the room at that time and the cleaning ladies would have to hit it too, as they need to do a “Detailed cleaning”. I accepted my fate and continued on I didn’t continue to push or anything. I did download and look at the app after that and looked at the available early check ins and at that time there were none. We then went had a good lunch and came back around 2:35pm and sat in the lobby. I looked at the check in time one last time and saw a check in time that had passed for 2:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, of course. I jumped at the 3pm one(for $30 extra) but had a thought (the turn around was too fast for a detailed cleaning) but continued on. Finally, we were able to get into the room and it was not what I was expecting. It was smaller than it seemed in the photos, only one window had no refrigerator to leave any leftovers, so I had to throw all my food away and waste essentially $100+ in food, lastly was the cleanliness. I would like to preface this by saying for the wait to be so long and no early check in was available, I expected the “DETAIL CLEAN” to be just that and it was in fact not! (I’m surprised I even stayed as I was scared I wouldn’t find another place in such a nice location in the area on such short notice) attached will be the photos after checking into the room. I wasn’t able to do any later check out from there standard check out at 11am leading me to believe that the room possibly was clean sooner then we were told and vacated before they led us to believe. Will not be...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews I see I didn’t miss out on much. I wouldn’t want to stay under judgmental people and a terrible company like this anyways. So thanks for doing me a favor and saving further money I won’t need to waste on this company.
This was the worst experience I could possibly ever encounter. Customer service was completely and utterly USELESS. Sonder is giving scammer and profiling vibes. They canceled multiple people’s reservations the night of RANDOMLY. The most I could feel is that I wasn’t alone in the BS but it is sad and disgusting that the only type of people that had to leave for “violations” before even checking in were Hispanic and African American?? Also a trend of them kicking out younger people.
They never sent an email on this “violation” nor when asked multiple times to explain and tell us what the violation was they fails to. So we had a canceled booking the night of with no reason or explanation why. They took my money and sent the refund to an unknown card when they should’ve just used the card on file. They also failed to send a refund receipt to the email ON FILE. I feel profiled and scammed of my money. If they wouldn’t had sent my money elsewhere I could have just gotten another hotel but no, I had to drive 2 hours back home. I’m so disgusted with customer support and sonder. I will never have anything nice to say and you all should be ashamed. Canceled with no explanation on my birthday and I watched people come in and out with drinks and drugs.
Sickening. It is days later and I still haven’t received a refund nor an email explaining the so called “violation”. They canceled so sneaky because on the app I had they passkey to get into the building, the wifi password, as well as parking. So on my end everything seems fine. When I go to the room of course you are to provide a passkey to get inside the room. The passkey was all of a sudden gone and when I called to check in I’m now told that it’s been canceled. No good excuse or explanation.
Fire your customer support because it could never be more trash and I’ve financed with Credito where people literally yell at you over the phone. I’d rather someone try and shove a bullshit excuse down my throat rather than give me legit NOTHING. You guys canceled my booking and gave me nothing….air bnb or booking is...
