Let me preface this with, I just realized I forgot my wallet and I wanted to run in for water and a quick snack. So, my brain was scattered and I was in a panic. I asked if I could use tap to pay, which thankfully this location has.
I asked the staff if there was bottled water and she said in the case. Now, naturally from first glance, there was no water, as the way the display is designed, you have to bend to knee level to see waters in the back. So I only saw another type of beverage. And the staff member said it's blue and silver, I look again, I didn't see it. I looked across the case and she repeats blue and silver. I didn't see it, again, I'm confused and again scatter brained. So I grabbed the only item I saw, which was green and silver. And she repeated again blue and silver. Maybe I was hearing the wrong thing I thought. So I finally bent over to knee level and saw the blue and silver bottles in the back.
She started laughing, told two of her coworkers with her back towards me that I don't know my colors and what an idiot I am and she even removed herself from checking me out so she wouldn't technically be laughing in my face.
Shame on you. You chose customer service, and if you don't have 30 seconds of patience in your body, don't put yourself in a position to be disgusting. The appropriate solution, would have been to say, sorry sometimes you have to check in the back and it might have registered to me to look in a place that seems slightly unnatural from a display perspective.
I take responsibility for not being in the right frame of mind in that moment, but that doesn't mean it gives the staff the right to laugh at people for an honest mistake. I can't imagine what it would be like if someone had a hearing impairment, they would get laughed at for hearing the wrong thing. Or what if they're colorblind? Guess it would be the...
Read moreThere is something so convenient about chain coffee locations. They are always right there when you need them. I enjoy a Starbucks cup of coffee, but on a recent trip to Chicago, our hotel was closest to a Peet's. After a quick peruse of the menu, I realized the menu is quite similar to Starbucks - both coffee and bakery items. I order an iced sugar free vanilla latte from Starbucks, and this drink was comparable in flavor. I also ordered the Turkey Bacon and White Cheddar breakfast sandwich - identical to Starbucks. The menu at Peet's did include something they called Jelly. I don't quite have a handling on what this does for a caffeinated beverage, but the options appeared endless with what you could include this in.
My sister, mom and I enjoyed this Saturday morning coffee and breakfast stop around 8:30am. It was not all that busy for being located on Michigan Avenue. We sat inside, but there is quite a bit of outdoor seating available as well. They do offer a restroom for customers only, and you do have to request the code from the barista. Overall, a great experience for coffee and small...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Peet's Coffee and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was perfect—just a little noise, but it added to the cozy and cool vibe of the place. The music system was fantastic, playing cool sounds that enhanced the ambiance. I decided to try the Chuao Gingerbread, Semifreddi Biscotti, and an Iced Caffe Latte. Each item was delicious, and the prices were fair and reasonable, making it a great value for the quality. The outdoor seating area was beautifully decorated, providing a lovely spot to relax and enjoy my meal.
The washroom was spotless, which is always a good sign of a well-maintained establishment. The staff were active and super quick, ensuring that my order was taken and served promptly. The manager was not only professional but also quite handsome, adding a touch of charm to the...
