This should be called GREASY GARDENS. Worn out and sticky. My salad was lukewarm and WET. The fried chicken strips were oily. Wilted lettuce and soggy mess covered with too much WARM cheese. BLECK. Barf. SALADS SHOULD BE CHILLED! Never again. This rundown small town grease trap is a great place to get a stomach ache. Service was fair, but my salad probably wouldn't have been warm except the server left it on the counter too long.

Prime rib is so good here and great value for the price. The place is a bit outdated but it’s clean and cozy. My only suggestion would be to move the salad bar where there is more space so it’s not so awkward and crowded to line up.

Decent food. I had the Favorite Skillet breakfast, a loaded omelet covered in sausage gravy with a side of toast. My only complaint is the onion & green peppers could have used a few more minutes on the grill.

I've eaten at this place for years but since past 1 1/2 yrs food and service has gone downhill. Was one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch or dinner. Cooks mess ur over up and cook it they're way not to customers liking, for instance American fries used to be like fried potatoes but now paper thin, just aweful, had a baked potato since didn't like American fries anymore it was rotten on inside but cooked anyways and served to me, I took it as a take out n didn't know until I got home. Food cooking has changed to cheaper and prices raise. That's just 1 of the things about food coming out of kitchen, seems cooks don't care like they used to. Servers write on ticket what the customer wants but rarely is it right and halve send back for them to get it right. I'd be ashamed to send food out my kitchen if it wasn't exactly the way it supposed to be. And it messes up servers tips. Now a couple servers good, rest are untrained as to customers needs, no anticipation of what table might need for meal, ketchup, steak sauce etc always have to ask over n over. Not all food comes out together for table it's staggered sometimes. Servers can be rude and disrespectful at times. I always leave at least $5 tip or more depending on meal. All staff needs retrained in customer service. Cooks need to be trained properly. I've worked in restaurants my whole life was management to line cook, prep cook, server, dishwasher, dishwasher sometimes you have to pick up slack if team member late or no show/call off. I don't know how servers make any money with the Cooks doing it they're way instead of customers. Restaurants servers have to tip bus people, Cooks, they get what's left, even though they make wage. Totally unfair imo. In my Restaurants servers keep all their tips. Cooks/chef cook food properly or they not employed anymore. Clearly this store doesn't care. I have spoken to many different people in Chillicothe Illinois who used to eat there but won't anymore due to lack of service and prices to high for bad food. I do hope things improve through retraining and customer service training. I wish this Grecian...

We've been coming here for decades. Today was BLECH!!!! I had the sirloin chopped steak MED RARE with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chopped steak arrived with no pink in the middle.... clearly easy over cooked. The green beans were so salty they were un-edible. I finally got my waitress back and showed her how over cooked my chopped steak was. She agreed and took it away to show the cook. After my friend had practically finished his meal, another one came out. I specifically told her medium rare....I like it so pink in the middle it should be practically mooing!! The 2nd one came back more over cooked than the first! On top of it our waitress never offered us a refill on our drinks. The green beans were over cooked and over salty. The mashed potatoes were like a heavy rock on a plate. The gravy was so salty that was all you could taste. My friends salad was awful. The lettuce was soggy and white, literally no green lettuce on the plate not to mention nothing but lettuce. No veggies, no croutons .....nothing but lettuce. It was nasty. I did have to show it to the manager so she could see what happened. She apologized and removed my dinner from my bill. The rest of the evening i was chugging water because of the little bit I did eat was so salty. Yuck. They need to get their activities...

I've always loved this place! I'm not the best at leaving reviews but I just had another delicious, well prepped, and well packaged to go order and thought these people need recognition! The person who took my order over the phone was friendly as always, even though I did a complete change up of one of their menu items. I got the Monterey chicken which is wonderful as it comes. But I can't have the sugar in the BBQ sauce so I ordered it without sauce and minus tomatoes. Then asked to add white county gravy. So it was chicken, melted cheese, bacon, onion, and white country gravy ( I hate mushrooms so I got it without but if you like mushrooms I'm sure they'd enhance this concoction). I also got the veggie of the day (green beans), and broccoli soup. Their soup and green beans are always great. No surprise there. The chicken was cooked to perfection as always, (Tender, juicy, never dry)! They put the gravy in a separate container so it wasn't drowning when I got it home, which was very thoughtful. My meal was excellent!! Side note to Grecians owner... You should make my concoction a menu items and call it Montana chicken (white country gravy and leave off the tomatoes). Yum! I also want to say I dine in often with my dad and always have great friendly service and tasty, satisfying food! PS try...
