Subject: Poor Service and Unprofessional Management at Kroger Chillicothe IL.
Message: Hello,
I’m writing to report an incident that occurred at your [Chillicothe] Kroger on [10-27-25]. I came in to cash a $100 Kroger/Western Union money order and was made to wait approximately 15 minutes for verification,the cash service emplyees name [Cynthia]even though it was a Kroger-issued money order and was verified over the phone.
During this time, I noticed multiple employees displaying negative attitudes toward customers,alround bad looks and no hello's, and when I raised these concerns to the manager (Ann), her response was, “Maybe Kroger just isn’t the place for you.”
That kind of dismissive attitude toward a paying customer is unacceptable.I simply asked why the process was taking so long,essentially trying to find out WHY it took so long. I would appreciate follow-up from a district or regional manager to ensure this store is being properly supervised and that employees receive better training in customer communication and professionalism.
This isn't a 1 store issue the behavior of western union/cash/service department employees in Krogers are consistently BAD across the board.

The managers there are helpful, go out of their way to tell you hello and ask if you ever need anything. The cashiers are just as great and if you have a problem they are on top of it. On one specific occasion we had bought some Kroger brand ice cream sandwiches. Upon opening them at home, my son & I both said they tasted like chemicals and burned our mouth. I called up there and they told me to bring them in at my convenience and they would refund me my money. When I did take them back they not only gave me my money back but also gave us a family package of name brand ice cream sandwiches for free! I didn't even ask for more, they just offered. Read moreThis location is not as big as others in the greater area so its selection is not as good but that is understandable.
There is not a lot of ethnic or limited diet options here. I suspect that's due to the average ethnicity and mindset of the surrounding area so that is understandable. They reliability have actually checkout workers if that is your preference. This is probably due to the same thing.
The produce section could be a little better maintained. -1 star.
