3½ stars. Several Hawaiian BBQ places around the area. This place is not at the bottom, nor at the top.
Service, was nice, friendly, and welcoming, but person who took my order at time, could have been a little better informed about menu options, as I had to point out a correction of my order, after looking at my receipt.
The hot (spicy) BBQ beef was too dry for my liking and I would say it seemed more extra seasoned than it was spicy. IMO, you're better off paying $2 less for the non spicy version and eating it with a sauce.
The fried chicken was much better than the BBQ beef, as it had good flavor and the right amount of crispness to tender ratio. Although they have several combination plates with a mix of meat/chicken/seafood options, I wish they offered mix and match options where I could make my combination plate. I had to order the fried chicken as an add-on to my plate, as it wasn't included in any combination plate they offered. This brought the total amount of my order to almost $30, for just myself.
I'll likely come again in the future for their fried chicken, but skip...
Read moreI was craving spam musubi and was about to hit my usual Hawaiian BBQ, Ono's. I did a Google search and had seen this place. I figured I would try it and support a small business.
They have a nice little corner spot in the strip mall that they are located at.
What stood out to me was the picture on the entrance windows. Specifically, the variety of musubis.
I ended up ordering the crispy spam musubi and a Loco moco bowl.
I have to say, I was really satisfied with both items. The crispy spam musubi is a new one to me and it did not disappoint. It was so crunchy and it still had that great spam musubi taste. Teriyaki sauce was delicious. That alone is saying alit, because I am not a big fan of it.
The Loco moco bowl was fantastic! It was perfectly portioned. The gravy was a home run! The patty could have been a bit thicker, but that didn't stop me from devouring it.
It truly reminded me of the Hawaiian island and home, Guam.
I gave the food a 9/10 because I need to try the rest of their delectable meals.
I will...
Read moreCame here for the first time because I had katsu on my mind. After going through the options with the nice cashier, I pointed at a plate that had katsu and beef short ribs but somehow ended up with a bbq mixed plate. I accept that it was my fault For not being Clear enough with my order. So I said, “it’s fine” and accepted what I was handed to avoid any issues. While eating my rice, i noticed that my rice was undercooked and at the price I’m paying for a plate I would expect for the rice to be on point every time when rice is as much a main part of the plate just like the meat. Short rib was chewy and tough. I came here because I saw a good review from Tik tok but after my experience, I doubt I’ll be back here. There’s other Hawaiian spots nearby that are probably better with the quality of food they serve. It’s my first any only time and this is my experience so don’t knock it until you’ve...
