I frequently eat sichuan food in SGV and OC areas. I happened to be driving by Chino and found Sichuan Spicy Factory through an online search. I was craving the rattan pepper fish so I ordered it for takeout.
This dish was the most numbing rattan pepper fish I have ever had. I could not feel my lips - it felt like I received an injection to prepare me for surgery. I found the culprit - apparently 3 branches of the rattan peppercorn was used (approximately 100 pieces, I counted)... I don't recall ever seeing this much in this dish at other restaurants.
The fish itself was good and I received a good amount, but the fish used had been battered & fried. I was not a fan of the batter, as it made the dish mushier. The flavor and salt levels were good, no complaints there.
Overall, it hit the spot but I would not order this dish again due to the extreme numbing and fish coating/batter. The dish also leaked inside the plastic bag even though it was upright the whole time, and a little oil got on my car floor. I would recommend...
Read moreA very authentic Sichuan Chinese restaurant, I straight up didn't know which noodle I ordered but I knew it was spicy. I underestimated my heat level tolerance but I'm glad I tried something new.
I ordered Mongolian beef ($19.99), sautéed cabbage with garlic ($13.99), boiled cabbage and pork dumplings ($12.99), and chongqing spicy noodles ($11.99).
A big thing is that I shared the spicy, mouth-numbing and super aromatic chongqing spicy noodles with my parents and their heat tolerance is much less than mine. The noodles clung to the chili oil broth and did not get soggy even when it took me a longer than normal time to finish the bowl since I had to take breaks. It really was numbing, I'm just glad I got it to-go. My family liked the Mongolian beef and sauteed cabbage the most.
Located next to Pizza Hut, the place has a good amount of seating with tables filled. The parking lot is spacious. The lady who took my order was nice. ...
Read moreI would’ve give a 5 star for the food but not very happy with the service. I went in at a not very busy post lunch time and sat down. All the people inside seat ordered before me. While I was patiently waiting for my orders, there’s another couple came in and sat down, apparently to be friends of the waitress. Waitress were talking and chatting nonstop with them and must’ve moved the couple’s order before mine. The couple got all their order before me and I was staring at the waitress for sitting over 20 mins there with nothing. She was trying to tell me, oh your orders are different than theirs that’s why it’s taking longer. Nah uh, I’m not buying it. Was feeling very unsatisfied with the treatment cause I was there first. Food (beef and eel)was great but...
