Over ALL... Pretty good. I enjoy the happy hour offerings and pricing, the lively decor and ambiance. FULL bar! Tequila selection is amazing and I love their options for Baja California draft beer. The food is cute, ie small portions and kinda over salted sometimes but maybe that's how you keep people ordering drinks... The entire menu is like a kids food menu, you'll see what I mean when you see the menu. The disposable forks/ knives/ and spoons don't help with that; not a fan of that. They need to figure out a better system for ordering and table service and training their staff on how to manage the flow of customers (food runners need to be more involved) and all of that because it can get a bit confusing with some people sitting before they order and then some people expecting table service even though there's a huge ORDER HERE sign. I actually don't mind that it's counter service because I just prefer to sit at the bar so I don't have to get up every time I need something. I would only go here during a slow, happy hour, I wouldn't bother if the place is packed. You should check it out if you're curious and want a tasty margarita. The bar drinks are way better than some of the other "craft" places on 3rd.

Excellent chilaquiles!! Very close to my absolute favorite restaurant in Palm Desert. I love chilaquiles which don't try to behave like an elevated version of themselves - make good nachos that don't sog up quickly, a delicious sauce that lives up to its name, whether creamy, mild or spicy, give me some delicious creamy sour cream and a good side of beans. That is a good chilaquiles. This place had exactly this. We ordered the combination plates where you can mix and match - a Rojas and verde and a creamy poblano and verde. Both were excellent and I don't think you'll go wrong with choosing any of their chilaquiles options! We went at opening time on Sat, so the place was empty and we ordered at the bar. I don't know if that is how it works when it gets busier. It is an open space so I think it will have the tendency to get loud. There is paid street parking all along main street. I will definitely come back here for Chilaquiles. This is it!

My first visit was a week ago. I ordered cabeza taco, my friend ordered pollo ND quesadilla with cerveza. The cabeza tacos may look small but it's full load of cabeza. Delicious 😋 and I got full by two tacos and a quesadilla. My friend was so happy with his pollo taco and quesadilla. Also I got to see chef Alvaro was very nice😊. He serves delicious birria, cabeza, steak and so much more. La National looks great. We were so happy that we visited. I went back again last Friday for the brunch menu to try. Chilaquiles was so good! Potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the beans...wow I normally don't like but it was flavorful. I added birria to my Chilaquiles 🥰😍😋🤤🤤. Serving portion was generous and I got happy tummy and full all day 😅. Next time, love to try some cocktails or adult beverages with birria and others. Highly recommended.

If you're in the mood for a lively, vibrant dining experience, look no further than La Nacional, where the energy is as bold as the flavors on the menu. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with bright colors, playful decor, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly sets the stage for a fantastic evening.

The vibe here is perfect for both casual gatherings and special celebrations. Music fills the air, and the chatter of happy patrons adds to the infectious energy. Whether you're sitting at the bar or at a cozy table, it’s clear this is a place meant for enjoying life—and the food and drinks definitely enhance that experience.

Speaking of drinks, La Nacional knocks it out of the park. Their margaritas are an absolute must-try—balanced, refreshing, and served with the perfect salted rim. If you're into something a little more adventurous, they are constantly switching their cocktail menu adding new drinks with fresh ingredients and pack a punch. The tequila and mezcal selection is impressive, with options for both the connoisseur and the casual drinker. sweetness.

As for the food, every dish is bursting with flavor. The birria tacos are a highlight—perfectly crispy, juicy, and loaded with fresh toppings. The guacamole is creamy and indulgent, a great companion to their freshly made tortilla chips. Their brunch also is delightful, my favorite are their chilaquiles rojos with the perfect balance of spice.

Overall, La Nacional delivers on both the food and the fun factor. With its great vibe, fabulous drinks, and mouthwatering Mexican cuisine, it’s the ideal place to kick back, relax, and enjoy a fabulous meal and cocktail with or without the kids!...

In the heart of Chula Vista, a gem named La Nacional glistens with the spirit of Mexico. This isn't just a dining spot; it's a foray into a world where each cocktail and dish tells a story. The Whiskey Sour here isn't just mixed; it's crafted with a precision that paves the way for the masterpiece of the night: the Oaxaca Old Fashioned. This drink, a bold fusion of half tequila, half mezcal, is a tribute to the heart and soul of agave, capturing the essence of Mexican nights under a starlit sky.

At the helm of this flavor journey is Jay, a bartender who doesn't just pour drinks but infuses them with character and flair. His Oaxaca Old Fashioned is a testament to his skill, balancing the fiery boldness of tequila with the mystical smoke of mezcal.

The culinary experience is further elevated by Jocilyn, a waitress whose service shines as brightly as the dishes she brings. The chips, guacamole, and queso panela, each a simple fare on their own, become under her presentation a canvas of textures and flavors, echoing the richness of Mexican cuisine.

But what truly sets La Nacional apart is its vibe - a symphony of music, warmth, and impeccable service. Every staff member, attuned to the rhythm of hospitality, ensures that every moment at La Nacional is a celebration of culture and culinary artistry, making every visit not just a meal but a memorable experience. In this lively corner of Chula Vista, La Nacional stands as a testament to the joy and flavor of Mexico, brought to life by the passion and excellence...

I’ve been a regular at this establishment for quite some time, often bringing friends and family with me, as I live nearby. I’m familiar with the usual busy atmosphere, where you order at the register for food and drinks, with just two bartenders working. However, my experience yesterday left me extremely disappointed.

I arrived with a group of seven, including my 1-year-old, at around 5 PM. I’ve always spoken highly of this place, so I was eager to share it with my group. We walked in and approached the bar to grab seats while waiting for a table to open. Despite my fiancé and friend making multiple attempts to get the attention of the staff, one male bartender with long hair simply pointed to the register. They went there, only to be met by the tall male bartender with short hair, who refused to make eye contact with any of us. We waited for several minutes, and finally, my fiancé said, “I guess we’re being refused service.” As we were leaving, the bartender smirked and sarcastically said, “Bye!”

I was left speechless by the rude and unprofessional behavior. We had done nothing wrong, yet the only interaction we had was a dismissive farewell. This experience has completely changed my perception of this place, and I won’t be returning. It’s clear that they don’t value their customers or...
