Dame Más Cafeina — Restaurant in Chula Vista

This is a cool little coffee spot. The main building is a salon and in front is a small coffee shop. It is run by a husband and a wife team.

I had a small cortado and a couple of items to eat from local vendors. I had a small soyrizo breakfast burrito from Nando's Shot Box and a local empanada baker.

The cortado was good. It smooth up front with a slight bitterness towards the end. The soyrizo breakfast at $4 was a skinny burrito. It was tasty, but I would recommend less potato and more soyrizo and eggs. The empanadas were good, too. The cheese and jalapeno one was good, but more peppers inside mixed with the cheese would have been grand. The ground beef and potato empanada were very tasty, too. The meat inside was well seasoned. The exterior of both empanadas was crispy.

This coffee shop has a charming vibe, but the service needs improvement. Despite only three customers ahead of us who had already ordered, we waited about 30 minutes just to place our order for two simple coffees. One barista, though friendly, prepared drinks very slowly—one every 10-15 minutes—while another staff member only labeled cups. There was no clear line, and newer customers were prioritized unfairly. Notably, the barista served his friend, who didn’t even order, and another customer who arrived later requested and received her drink before us. After waiting nearly an hour without our coffees being started, we left. The staff’s friendliness was a highlight, but the long wait times and lack of fair prioritization were frustrating. Dame Mas Coffee was an absolute hit at our event! The PTO couldn’t be more grateful to have had them join us. From the moment they arrived, they brought such a positive and welcoming energy. Their team was incredibly kind, easy to talk to, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had an amazing experience.

And the coffee? Hands down the best we’ve had! Every cup was rich, flavorful, and made with so much care. Not to mention their hot cocoa, which was a huge favorite among the kids and adults alike—perfectly warm and delicious.
