This place survives off of being gimmicky which entices people like me to try it out. They have "gigante" sizes of things like burgers, burritos, tortas, etc. To put things in perspective, gigante is at least twice the size of the "super size" McDonalds used to have. The burrito is like two and a half feet long. The burgers and tortas are pretty much layered cakes, it's completely ridiculous! Not to mention as everyone else stated, the food surprisingly decent, but the conditions of the restaurant and service is a horrible show.
First off, before you even call I'll tell you this...The woman that answers the phone speaks Spanish and ONLY Spanish. Three times I've called. The first time I ended up just hanging up and going down there (where I saw questionably very young kids possibly working the kitchen, one of which she had to have translate what I was saying to her.) Second time I attempted to piece together 7 years of unused Spanish and Google to get things done. Third, I just put my Manager Pacheco on the phone whose got my back! He easily put together my order with her.
They deliver, but the driver for some reason got lost for 15-20 minutes just going 8 blocks (she kept calling me from the wrong parking lot maybe a couple blocks away, but neither of us could understand each other so I gave up) After all hope was lost she shows up and then of course didn't have any change so she got a huge $20 tip for nothing.
The place is usually a ghost town. It also is either family run or the cashier can never find a baby sitter as someone's kids are always playing around or "doing things" in the kitchen (I hope they aren't making them work as it seems REALLY sketchy.)
Overall decent food. Service and everything else is a mess. Like everyone else I wonder how this place stays open.
3/5 Stars
Tip: Learn Spanish before eating...
Read moreToday I order one regular torta and a Mexican coke of one liter for deliver the girl on the phone told me the food was going to get here in 30 minutes but after those 30 minutes the girl called me to tell me that driver was one hour late.. I told them I didn't want it anymore and that I wanted my money back instead.. well I had to wait one more hour just to receive a call from. Them asking me if I still wanted my torta or I wanted my money back I told her I didn't want it anymore because it was to late and might be cold she said they could make me a new one and give me the cost of the coke and delivery back so I accepted.. 25 minutes later I was still waiting for my food I got passed again and called them just to find out that my food was already in my job so they just dropped it to security without even call me to let me know that my food was already here.... I feel so disappointed I didn't even enjoy my food ugh.. never buying from them again there a mess.. one more thing they didn't even send me Mexican coke they put me a regular American coke 😤 😒 DISAPPOINTED DISAPPOINTED...
Read moreYou know I remember back when I was 3 I was riding my ostrich down Lakeshore Drive. The wind was blowing and I felt very gay. I got hungry so I thought "What would Obama do?" (Keep in mind he wasn't president yet). So I went to Mi Taqueria Ochoa and let me just say I've never been so pleasured to be in a restaurant before. I went in there and I instantly felt the need to chop my balls off and change my name to "Courtney". I just wanted to lick the soul out of the fridge because it was raining outside. I just wanted to put my shoe in the tortilla and throw it at the waitress because it was so hot outside. The tacos made me go chaotic and I got arrested that day. Bottom line is that this restaurant is great and it really is 5-star service. Thanks Betty White and shout...
