I am an over the road truck driver and was picking up my load at the Sam Addams across the street from this establishment. I couldn't resist the smells coming from the street car converted in to a kitchen. Upon entering, I was greeted with a warm smile and a "How you doin' baby?!" from the young lady who took my order. I opted for the rib tip dinner with macaroni and greens and corn bread. With 2 cans of coke, my total was only $12!! The service was quick and friendly. Upon entering my truck, I decided to have a few bites before my 30 minute break ended. A few bites turned in to me smashing the entire meal. One bite of the rib tops, with hot barbeque sauce, left me yearning for more. The meat was smokey and tender. The sauce was perfect. Not too sweet and just the right amount of kick. Looking at the macaroni and greens had my mouth watering. The macaroni was cheesy and even had bits of barbeque in it! The greens were perfect. Cooked to perfection, not mushy and just the right amount of bite and a hint of sweetness. But, to be truthful, I have been all over and had some barbeque from some of the most renowned joints in the country. The winner in this dinner was...THE CORNBREAD!! I know it sounds "corny", but it was some of the best cornbread I ever had. More like a griddle cake. It was friggin delicious. Did I mention, for only $12!!!! I'll be back, for sure. Make sure you get down to this little rib tip gem, you won't be disappointed. You all keep up the great work. I'll be back for lunch...
Read moreI stopped here because I just learned about Ollie's Trolley in Louisville which is my wife's hometown. She's never even mentioned Ollie's Trolley and of course hasn't taken me there so I when I was in the Cincy area I decided to give this a try.
It is in an area that I would describe as worn out industrial supply business area. Semis, etc. and a lot of boarded up buildings. Just don't expect a really nice neighborhood with a lot of other businesses around. I did see a couple of policemen so that was comforting I suppose.
The lady who took my order was very friendly and very clear to explain that they have their own menu and might be different from Louisville. She has not been to Louisville and was very interested in the differences if I could let her know. I'll try to do that.
The burger was fine. It has flavors I've never had with a burger that I can't describe. It is definitely messy. The fries are ok and both of these items definitely wouldn't be as good if they were not hot. Mine was perfect. No iced tea! Only canned drinks so I had their lemonade. It was great!
The staff was very friendly. I had a nice conversation with them all and I felt well served. I doubt I will be back but I'm glad I went by for...
Read moreWe had miscommunication with ordering and planning the pickup of our fried turkey. Ollie himself contacted me directly and made it right. I can understand now why they had a miscommunication. Their food is so good. They must have been just flying full throttle to make all that delicious food.
My seven year old and I showed up to pick up our food and nobody was there. I called and left a voicemail and Ali called back immediately dropped everything he was doing went back to the restaurant made the food and delivered it to us and saved Thanksgiving. I’m grateful that I’ve had the chance to eat this food because it was so good I’ve never had a deep-fried turkey before and my daughters and my wife and I went bananas for it.
I look forward to ordering from Ollies Trolley again next year and trying it in and around as well. The pie was amazing as well that we had. I’d also like to add that this is something where he could’ve easily just ignored the phone call and said nope I’m home I day is done but he decided he wanted to make a good experience for a first time customer and came...
