My wife and I had recently this month stopped here during a road trip up north because of the good reviews it had here. We were excited! We got in and sat down, the waiter was "kind". I had order pho and springrolls, and my wife ordered pork&eggroll vermicelli noodles. When we got our "springrolls" they were actually eggrolls, one looked good while the other was half burnt on one side and they had flipped it thinking we might not notice. We figured maybe the owner of the store was confused between the difference of eggrolls and springrolls. Oh well whatever, we brush it off and ate it, no biggie right? When my wife's pork&eggroll vermicelli noodles came, she realized it only had eggrolls and had commented that maybe it was pork eggrolls on the menu and not pork and eggrolls. Brushed it off again, and ate. Paid and left and didn't leave no tip because there were absolute no refill for water and he didn't stop by to ask if we've needed anything else after he had dropped off our main dishes. It was hard to get his attention so we stopped trying until he stopped by to drop off our bill. Days later after cheking our card transactions, we realized the waiter had taken out a $6 tip for himself making the total taken out $40. As furious as I was, my wife said to just let it go. Anyways overall, the resturant weren't even good considering we've been to pho resturants all over the east here. Waste of money and time. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Should had stopped at the other pho places near this one. The reviews here...
Read moreTerrible experience. I live in Glendale which is 30 minutes away from this restaurant. I ordered the Shaken Beef which was listed as $20. Picked my order up, got home and there was no rice, only beef, salad and 2 eggs over easy. Without the rice, I am not sure what the hell I ordered for $20. I called and the hostess said that they have 2 options for the meal. One without rice for $20 or one with rice for $22. Dumbest thing I've ever heard. Waste of time, and the beef was too tough. I asked for a full replacement and they said they would have to charge me again. Terrible food, terrible service, terrible experience. If you want delicious Shaken Beef for A LOT LESS MONEY, go to Saigon Noodle Bar in West Chester. Better service, better food and they don't play stupid games like this. I work hard for my money and carefully plan when I choose to order out. I hate wasting money. This was a waste of money and I won't be back. It's worth saying that they very next day I placed an order at Chef Nem Kitchen, who misread my order. They immediately replaced, plus gave me the entree that was made by mistake, plus 2 free drinks for the trouble. This is how restaurants who understand customer satisfaction and going above and beyond instead of treating people like oh well, tough luck, it's your fault for not looking through our entire menu to find the 2nd Shaken Beef entree 2 pages down. Get real. Saddest part is that I ordered 2 of the entree plus added 2 eggs. All I got was steak and eggs with a 2 ingredient salad...
Read moreI've wanted to visit Pho Lang Thang for a while, and I'm glad I finally made it here. I generally gravitate toward Fresh Table, and I was somewhat turned off by how busy they always were. But I was pleasantly surprised that even on a Saturday they were packed that I was quickly seated and was given prompt service. Nice.
I had the Dac Biet Pho. It was quite tasty. Not the best Pho I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. The 20 hour beef broth was the star of the dish; a little on the oily side but excellent. Bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and jalopenos were served prior to the dish as a 'salad' - somewhat unusual since I wouldn't generally eat these ingredients separately, and threw them in the pho when it arrived. All ingredients in the pho were great. On the recommendation from my server I got a medium as opposed to a large - the medium was huge and definitely enough, I'm not sure how big the large is!
The person I was with ordered the Bun Ga Nuong (Grilled Chicken Noodle Salad). I tried some and to be honest it was better than the pho I ordered! Chicken was seasoned great, and everything blended together perfectly! It came with 4 spring rolls and sauce which tasted wonderful. If I come back here, I'm ordering this!
I was really close to giving Pho Lang Thang 5 stars, but I feel that the seating is somewhat cramped, it is always busy, and I've had better pho in other cities. But probably the best place to get pho in Cincinnati! I'll definitely be...
