The Loon: Wine Bar & Shop — Restaurant in Cincinnati

On 3/3/19 the new owner of the Listing Loon , Melanie Quallen, was gracious enough to open her venue so, I could celebrate my 50th birthday in her space for a private event. Her efforts made my birthday the special celebration I had hoped for, and beyond.

The pricing terms for the use of the space was super reasonable, she made a few special drinks on the day (e.g. bloody mary mix, and a hand crafted lemonade since it was a Sunday afternoon) in addition to her regular drink menu, and a vast nonalcoholic selection of beverages to cater to both alcoholic and nonalcoholic needs of guests. She also created a jazz play list I requested for music. I already had food covered for the event, but Melanie offered to help work with local food catering if I needed, and she made sure to provide space and food tables necessary to accommodate food items in a neat presentable fashion. Melanie was punctual, and made sure to be there well ahead of the party to allow us to set up and decorate. Her service during the event was truly flawless, and all my guests raved about her attention and quality product selections. My only regret is I have no pictures to post to document how spectacular the event turned out. Everyone was having such a lovely time that photo bugging was not a priority.

Beth knows her craft beers and wines!!! The service here ALWAYS comes with a smile. Right in the Heart of the Historic Northside Business District this place offers a very nice selection of microbrews and craft beers. Shop local, buy your libations here! Beth and Dave not only are very knowledgeable about craft beer and wine, they are passionate about it...in a very non-elitist way. The Loon itself (including the new patio) is a low key atmosphere. Just a great place to hang with friends and enjoy conversation while trying some of the greatest craft beers offered anywhere in this city.
