My husband and I stopped here for the first time for appetizers and dinner with friends. We sat in the bar area as happy hour runs from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. daily but only in the bar space. Our server Lacy was prompt and polite with taking our orders. The bartenders were a different story. For some reason they could not produce four drinks at one time. My drink was a cosmopolitan and that came out first. The other drinks were straight pours of bourbon and vodka but they trickled from the bar to our table. I ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were delicious. The aioli sauce and burrata cheese on top added an unexpected ingredient. I ordered Aubrey's grilled cheese as my main and it was disappointing. None of the main sandwiches came with any kind of sides, you had to order french fries etc separately. My grilled cheese did not have the flavor that I was expecting from the different cheeses listed and it was exceptionally greasy. The other three diners with us all ordered the bistro burgers and said that they were delicious and perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere at least in the bar area where we were sitting and had some interesting things on their menu. I think that they really need to work out their issues with cocktails at the bar so that everything is produced at once for one table. We might try it again in the future if we were over that way.

My experience started with a surprise pay to park parking lot, but only 2 dollars and a service charge. The parking lot entrance take you to the bar, with a hostess station around the bar closer to the street entrance again a little odd, just would have been nice to know instead of looking around and feeling lost. The place was chilly, my booth table was so far away from the seat I sat on the edge and leaned over while my wife just sat on her side kind of on the edge ( no big deal but add the hard lean to the right, and we felt more out of class) Had the brie puff with sweet chili sauce, the sauce is good but pairs more with Chinese take out food, as I would have preferred a pepper jelly or something similar. For 15 dollars for 5 I expected more, the puff and cheese needed a sauce or it comes up a bit flat especially at the price. The bistro burger with it's layers of burger, short rib, and onion ring are highlighted with the star of the show horseradish aoli. Pictures include the fries we split as they were extra charge for sides including fries. The American burger was good but pickles were more on the cucumber side, than a pickle. Overall it's upscale pricing, tastey food, but unless I lived local, I'm not pulled to come back. I think with Nation next door there is probably some stiff competition with the chain.

what a great dinner date restaurant. The renovations and the atmosphere are fantastic. I got the signature burger and it was incredible as well as the South Korean seasoned cauliflower appetizer absolutely incredible flavor. this was our very first time visiting this restaurant as it is fairly new. We are excited about the big changes on the west side of Cincinnati primarily Westwood. It is becoming a really nice atmosphere for family as well as children. Right next to this restaurant is an incredible kids play area at what used to be City Hall lot of rich history at this intersection. An absolute must see. this dining facility is a little bit higher upscale than the neighbor burger joint. You can tell because they have cloth napkins. And the dishes have a very unique South Korean spice style which I’ve never had before and seemed to be very scrumptious. even my young children enjoyed the spicy appetizers as well as the unique style mayonnaise on the burgers which were gourmet. The service was quick and smooth very nice folks that worked there. And the price was reasonable as well. For a family of five we spent $125 including tip. We don’t drink so that was a big money saver.

Newly opened in Henke Wine’s old place, the team behind Ivory House on Harrison have gone it again. Where Ivory House is more upscale dining, W Bar + Bistro caters for the more relaxed, but still terrific food. Refusing to cater for the cheap crowd, demonstrates that Westwood is way more open to good dining than folk would otherwise give it credit for. The food was superb - I went for a Tuna Poke Bibimbap Lettuce Wrap and followed it with a superb Grilled Salmon glazed with a lemon & honey glaze, with on a bed of dirty rice pilaf and charred green beans. Meanwhile my wife got the Brie Puffs and the Sirloin Steak Frites with Arugula, tomatoes and horseradish aioli. All for were totally delicious. Bonus was even meeting up with Joe Henke and his wife on the table next to us. That and with both Jamie and Elise from Henke Wine now working at W, made it feel like Ric & Frank had created a new home for everybody. We’ll be going again soon - the Bistro Poutine and Korean Fried Chicken are calling for me!

Disappointing. The bartender that was our server was judgmental, impatient, and would rather be any place but there. With the $100 bill that I paid with, she held it in the air right in front of me to verify. I’m sure they were more subtle and respectful ways to check for the validity of the bill, like using a marker. It was freezing when we went in, given the summer temperature wasn’t terrible, but it did impact enjoying the food. I ordered the French toast, granola, and fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were the best. The French toast did not have all the ingredients, specifically the fruit topping which was listed in the menu. The granola, was really really tasty however, the fruit that accommodated was not the best pairing. Overall, I was full, but I did not leave very satisfied with the experience as a whole.

Fantastic lunch or dinner spot, with a well-rounded menu... not too much of a menu that it's overwhelming, but plenty of choices. My friend and I shared the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and they were perfect! I had the W burger, well done, with a side of Mac and cheese. I was debating between the burger and the Buffalo Mac and Cheese, so I was very pleasantly surprised when my side of mac n cheese was topped with Grippo's chips. Yum! The W burger is topped with pepper jelly and cream cheese, with a crunchy slaw.. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Honestly. The service was great, the wait for food was short, and the owner stopped by to say Hi! The owners are very invested in the community, and I look forward to seeing where they grow next.
